We present in this paper an implementation of a multiscale edges detection algorithm on multiprocessor using SYnDEx which is a programming environment to generate optimized distributed real-time executives. The implementation has been done on three TMS320C40 and the acceleration in comparison with one processor is 2.2.

The chromatographic behaviour (retention, selectivity, peak shape and resolution) of seven tricyclic antidepressants (TCAs), amitryptiline, clomipramine, doxepin, imipramine, maprotiline, nortryptiline and trimipramine, was examined. Conventional unendcapped Cs and C18 columns and an endcapped XTerra MS C18 column recommended for the analysis of basic compounds were used together with acetonitrile-water and micellar sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS)-pentanol mobile phases. The two best combinations were XTerra C18/acetonitrile, which yielded the largest efficiencies and resolution, and C8/SDS-pentanol, which eliminated the peak tails that were still observed with the XTerra C18 column. A superconducting fragment separator (Super-FRS) is being designed for the production and separation of radioactive isotopes at the future FAIR (Facility for Antiprotons and Ion Research) facility at Darmstadt. This paper discusses various aspects and requirements for the high-power production target that will be used in the Super-FRS experiments. The production target must survive over an extended period of time as it will be used during the course of many experiments. Is the nonREM–REM sleep cycle reset by forced awakenings from REM sleep?

In selective REM sleep deprivation (SRSD), the occurrence of stage REM is repeatedly interrupted by short awakenings. Typically, the interventions aggregate in clusters resembling the REM episodes in undisturbed sleep. This salient phenomenon can easily be explained if the nonREM–REM sleep process is continued during the periods of forced wakefulness. However, earlier studies have alternatively suggested that awakenings from sleep might rather discontinue and reset the ultradian process.
