Rawls ed An-Na’im in dialogo. Reciprocità, Islam e Costituzionalismo

2018

Constitutionalism and Islam are the theoretical framework of An- Na’im’ Islamic reformation. This proposal is possible on the herme- neutic role of the naskh for a new interpretation of the Qur’an and Sunna, based on the principle of reciprocity. Is the An-Na’im’s notion of civic reason a ‘friendly amendment’ to Rawls’idea of public reason? Making sense of the reciprocity and the reasonable as normative and moral ideal in the two thinkers, through the necessary dimension of the constitutionalism, can overcome their differences.

Maxiprocesso

2005

An exploration of reciprocity between female athletes and their coach in elite junior swimming: a shared reality theory perspective

2021

Based on the proposition that the relationship between a coach and athlete is at its best when both parties contribute to enhancing its quality, the present study sought to investigate if Shared Reality Theory could provide new insights on the topic. Specifically, the purpose of the present study was to explore: (a) how a shared reality is established, or fails to be established, over the course of the sporting partnership between athletes and their coach; and (b) how the presence of a shared reality (or not) in the coach-athlete relationship is related to the experienced quality of the relationship between athletes and their coach, as recorded over time. Narrative inquiry, embedded within …

From Togetherness to Equal Partnership in Role Play

1998

In the day care centre, already at the transition stage to role play children show different kinds of participation. They observe each other's play, share goal orientation and directly tutor each other. The play process is materially supported and often initiated by educators. However, children also need to acquire the power to act autonomously in role play. The different kinds of participation in young children's play, as well as the appearance and development of basic features of joint role play were examined in three games of a two‐year‐old girl, Katju, in her day care group. The games are examples of ten play sessions she was involved in. These data were collected by means of reactive p…

Avoiding minorities: Social invisibility

2012

Three experiments examined how self-consciousness has an impact on the visual exploration of a social field. The main hypothesis was that merely a photograph of people can trigger a dynamic process of social visual interaction such that minority images are avoided when people are in a state of self-reflective consciousness. In all three experiments, pairs of pictures—one with characters of social minorities and one with characters of social majorities—were shown to the participants. By means of eye-tracking technology, the results of Experiment 1 (n=20) confirmed the hypothesis that in the reflective consciousness condition, people look more at the majority than minority characters. The res…

Why Mate Choices are not as Reciprocal as we Assume: The Role of Personality, Flirting and Physical Attractiveness

2011

Based on a social relations perspective on mating, the actual and assumed reciprocity of mate choices was studied in a real–life speed–dating context. A community sample involving 382 singles aged 18–54 years filled out a questionnaire for the measurement of self–perceived mate value, sociosexuality, extraversion, and shyness and participated in free speed–dating sessions. Immediately after each date, choices and assumed choices were recorded. Measures of physical attractiveness and flirting behaviour were obtained by independent observers. Results show that actual mate choices are not reciprocal although people strongly expect their choices to be reciprocated and flirting behaviour is ind…
