Effects of Inequality on Trust and Reciprocity: An Experiment With Real Effort

The purpose of this paper is analyzing whether trust and reciprocity are affected by how rich the partner is or how well the partner performed several tasks with real effort. A trust game (TG) experiment is designed with three treatments. First, a baseline Treatment B in which subjects play a finitely repeated TG. Second, in a Treatment H with history, subjects know the partner’s wealth level reached in the past. This paper highlights the very active role of objects in the practice of gift exchange, focusing on the representation of munus and donum which emerges from Seneca's De beneficiis and Medea's tragedy. Examining the function of the gift and its cultural patterns permits a critical comparison with anthropological studies concerning the theory of the spirit of the gift (hau) formulated by Marcel Mauss and the theme of inalienable gifts, elaborated by Annette Weiner. Italian Adaptation of the "Autonomy and Relatedness Coding System

The study examined the applicability of the observational technique developed by Allen and colleagues (Allen, Hauser, Bell, & O’Connor, 1994; Allen, Hauser, et al., 2003) to investigate the issues of autonomy and relatedness in parent-adolescent relationship in the Italian context. Thirty-five mother-adolescent dyads participated to a task in which they discussed a family issue about which they disagree. Adolescents were also administered a self-report measure assessing their relationship with mothers. Trois thèses sur la relation entre science économique et sens commun sont défendues dans cet essai. La première est que la science économique trouve dans la critique des vérités supposées du sens commun un facteur providentiel de légitimité. A cette fin, elle s'est en partie employée à révéler et expliciter des mécanismes sous-jacents surprenants ou paradoxaux par rapport aux idées reçues. La deuxième thèse est que l'opposition entre le langage théorique et celui du sens commun constitue pour l'essentiel, malgré sa popularité, un faux problème. L’article traite de l’importance assumée par la question de la formation (de la reproduction à la capacité active vivante), dans la dernière période de Romano Alquati. On aborde également le problème de l’appauvrissement de la subjectivité qui, selon l’auteur, serait provoquée par la numérisation des processus d’éducation. The essays deals with the centrality increasingly assumend by the thems of training (the reproduction of active living working capacity) in the last Alquati, as well as the impoverishment of subjectivities that, according to this author, would occur with the digitation of many educational processes.
