A Multiagent Framework to Animate Socially Intelligent Agents

This paper presents a multiagent framework designed to animate groups of synthetic humans that properly balance task oriented and social behaviors. The work presented in this paper focuses on the BDI agents and the social model integrated to provide socially acceptable decisions. The social model provides rationality, to control the global coordination of the group, and sociability, to simulate relations (e.g. friends) and reciprocity between members. The anthropological premise to the pedagogical treatment of fairy tales contribution to the formation of sexual and gender identity in girls and boys is the origin of sexual dimorphism that, being present in all cultures, cannot only be the result of socio-cultural conditioning. Considering the mutual cooperation between men and women and the wider family and social harmony, contemporary fairy tales and the appropriate reinterpretations of classic fairy tales have great educational potential for sexual identity development and for overcoming social stereotypes related to sex in girls and boys.
Resveratrol-Related Dehydrodimers: Laccase-Mediated Biomimetic Synthesis and Antiproliferative Activity

Seven resveratrol-related monomeric stilbenoids were submitted to biomimetic oxidative coupling in the presence of laccase from Trametes versicolor (TvL), and gave racemic dihydrobenzofuran dehydrodimers (±)-15 to (±)-21. These products, after spectral characterization, were submitted to an antiproliferative activity bioassay against SW480 human colon cancer cells. Five racemates were found to be active, and were resolved by chiral HPLC. The pure enantiomers were subjected to circular dichroism measurements to establish their absolute configurations at C-7 and C-8. A new series of cyanido-bridged {LnIIIWV} heterobinuclear complexes of formula [LnIII(pyim)2(i-PrOH)(H2O)2(μ-CN)WV(CN)7]·2H2O [Ln = Gd (1), Tb (2), Dy (3), Ho (4), and Er (5); pyim = 2-(1H-imidazol-2-yl)-pyridine) and i-PrOH = isopropyl alcohol] were synthesized by one-pot reaction between (NH3Bu)3[W(CN)8] and [Ln(pyim)2]2+ complexes (generated in situ by mixing the corresponding LnIII ions and the pyim ligand). Abstract The crystal structures of Nd2(CrO4)3 · 7H2O and Eu2(CrO4)3 · 7H2O were determined by the conventional single-crystal X-ray diffraction technique. In addition, unit cell dimensions were measured for La2 (CrO4)3 · 7H2O and Sm2(CrO4)3 · 7H2O. All these compounds are isostructural. Crystals are monoclinic, space group P2 1 c . The synthesis, crystal structure and magnetic properties of a new series of mixed 3d–4f complexes with the formula [{FeIII(phen)(CN)3(μ-CN)}4Ln2III(NO3)2(H2O)6(μ-bpym)]·nH2O [Ln = Eu (1), Gd (2), Dy (3) and Ho (4); n = 8 (1, 3 and 4) and 11 (2); phen = 1,10-phenantroline; bpym = 2,2′-bipyrimidine] are discussed here. Compounds 1–4 are centrosymmetric hexanuclear species whose structure is made up of two cyano-bridged {Fe2IIILnIII} heterobimetallic moieties which are connected through a bis-bidentate bpym molecule between the two rare-earth centers. Abstract In this work we report the synthesis, structure and magnetic properties of two lanthanoid based coordination polymers (CP) and two dimers prepared with two derivatives of the 2,5-dihydroxy-1,4-benzoquinone (C6O4X2)2− as ligands. Using the bromanilato ligand: (C6O4Br2)2− we have prepared the CP [Eu1.96Dy0.04(C6O4Br2)3(DMSO)6]·2DMSO (1) (DMSO = dimethylsulfoxide) and with the chlorocyananilato ligand: (C6O4(CN)Cl)2−) we have prepared one CP formulated as [Eu1.96Dy0.04(C6O4(CN)Cl)3(DMSO)6] (2) and two isostructural dimers: [Eu1.96Dy0.04(C6O4(CN)Cl)3(H2O)10]·6H2O (3) and [Eu2(C6O4(CN)Cl)3(H2O)10]·6H2O (4). Hymenopteran specificity of Bacillus thuringiensis strain PS86Q3

Abstract The biological activity of Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) strain PS86Q3 against five Hymenopteran species was determined by means of bioassays adapted to each species. Four species of sawfly that are important pests of conifers (Diprion pini, Gilpinia hercyniae and Pristiphora abietina) or ornamental plants (Arge rosae), as well as the non-target honeybee, Apis mellifera, were studied. Two out of the four sawfly species tested were found to be sensitive to PS86Q3 crystals or spore/crystal suspensions. A sporulated culture of this strain was moderately active on D. pini, and a complete bioassay with solubilized crystals was performed to estimate the LC50 of 4.9 mg/ml. Pristiphora abiet…

El conseller de Cultura, Educación, Ciencia -Ciprià Císcar i Casabán- va a ser el encargado de redactar la ley que normalizase el uso y enseñanza del valenciano en el recién creado Consell salido de las urnas, en mayo de 1983.
