INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE: PERCEPTION AND REPRESENTATION OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN IN GUANAJUATO. A QUALITATIVE RESEARCH
Intimate partner violence and domestic violence refer to the violation of women’s rights, often provoked by socio-cultural norms based on a patriarchal matrix. In Mexican society, in particular, gender-based violence affects the physical and psychological well-being of Mexican women. Moreover, the social representations of women who suffer violence and the lack of an effective legislative framework often reproduce the legitimation of gender-based violence, enhancing negative stereotypes and prejudices. In this scenario, the voice of the women who suffer violence in intimate relationships is silenced. In particular, in public and academic debates the impact and consequences of violence again…
Evaluation of the immunogenicity and reactogenicity of a DTPa-HBV-IPV combination vaccine Co-administered with a hib conjugate vaccine either as a si…
2004
A combined DTPa-HBV-IPV/Hib vaccine containing diphtheria (D), tetanus (T), acellular pertussis (Pa), hepatitis B (HBV) and types 1, 2 and 3 inactivated polioviruses (IPV) extemporaneously mixed with a conjugated Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) vaccine (Group 1) was compared to the DTPa-HBV-IPV and Hib vaccines (Group 2) administered separately at 3, 5 and 11 months of age (n = 440). A microneutralization assay was used to detect antibodies against the 3 polio virus types (cut-off 1:8 dil), RIA for anti-HBs antibodies (cut-off 10 mIU/ml) and ELISA for antibodies against all other vaccine antigens (cut-off: 0.1 IU/ml for anti-tetanus and anti-diphtheria antibodies; 5 El.U/ml for antibodi…
Active Translucent Envelopes in Warm and Hot Areas – An innovative multifunctional, dry-assembled components for BIPV
2014
International directives that regulates buildings energy efficiency and environmental sustainability establish strict parameters for the construction of a new generation of “Zero Energy Buildings” indicating transmittance limits for building envelope components and encouraging the use of renewable sources. In this sense, the PV sector aims at the definition of novel efficient solutions for the integration in the building envelope, standing out for their multifunctional features. After an overview on the main PV technologies and building integrated applications, focusing on semi-transparent envelope solutions, the paper shows the results of a research carried out at the Department of Archite…
Attraction of egg-killing parasitoids toward induced plant volatiles in a multi-herbivore context
2015
In response to insect herbivory, plants emit volatile organic compounds which may act as indirect plant defenses by attracting natural enemies of the attacking herbivore. In nature, plants are often attacked by multiple herbivores, but the majority of studies which have investigated indirect plant defenses to date have focused on the recruitment of different parasitoid species in a single-herbivore context. Here, we report our investigation on the attraction of egg parasitoids of lepidopteran hosts (Trichogramma brassicae and T. evanescens) toward plant volatiles induced by different insect herbivores in olfactometer bioassays. We used a system consisting of a native crucifer, Brassica nigr…
Effect of dual biotic stress on plant volatile synomones used by an egg parasitoid
Plants respond to arthropod herbivory with the induction of volatiles called herbivore-induced plant volatiles (HIPVs). These volatiles appear to be important sources of information that attract parasitoids. Parasitic wasps foraging decisions are often affected by community characteristics such as community diversity and complexity. As part of a complex habitat, the presence of unsuitable hosts (non-host) may affect foraging behavior of parasitoids. In this chapter, we outline the importance of the presence of unsuitable herbivores on the behavioral responses of parasitoids. First we review the foraging behavior of parasitoid in tritrophic interaction. Then we focus on foraging behavior by …
A new Scheme for RPL to handle Mobility in Wireless Sensor Networks
2017
Mobile wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are characterised by dynamic changes in the network topology leading to route breaks and disconnections. The IPv6 routing protocol for low power and lossy networks (RPL), which has become a standard, uses the Trickle timer algorithm to handle changes in the network topology. However, neither RPL nor Trickle timer are well adapted to mobility. This paper investigates the problem of supporting mobility when using RPL. It enhances RPL to fit with sensors' mobility by studying two cases. Firstly, it proposes to modify RPL in order to fit with a dynamic and hybrid topology in the context of medical applications. Secondly, it investigates a more general case…
An intrusion detection system for selective forwarding attack in IPv6-based mobile WSNs
2017
Selective forwarding attack is considered among the most dangerous attack in wireless sensor networks, particularly in mobile environment. The attackers compromise legitimate nodes and selectively drop some packets. In addition to that, the movement of some nodes increases link failures, collisions and packet loss. So, it will be more difficult to detect malicious nodes from legitimates ones. This paper focuses on detecting selective forwarding attackers in IPv6-based mobile wireless sensor networks when the standardized IPv6 Routing Protocol for Low Power and Lossy Networks (RPL) is used. Contrarily to previous works which propose solutions to detect selective forwarding attack in static w…
An adaptive timer for RPL to handle mobility in wireless sensor networks
2016
This paper focuses on the performance of wireless sensor networks characterized by a hybrid topology composed of mobile and static sensor nodes. The Routing Protocol for Low power and lossy networks (RPL), which is standardized as an IPv6 routing protocol for low power and lossy networks, uses the trickle timer algorithm to handle changes in the network topology. However, this algorithm is not well adapted to dynamic environments. This paper enhances the trickle timer in order to fit with mobility requirements. Most of previous works have improved this algorithm without considering the random movement of nodes. In this work, the proposed timer algorithm takes into consideration the random t…
Effetto della localizzazione dello stress biotico sulle difese indotte in Vicia faba
2016
