Formatiivinen vertaisarviointi kehittää tärkeitä elämäntaitoja

Vertaisarviointi on Suomen peruskoulussa nuori ja lähes tutkimaton käytäntö, joka mainitaan ensimmäisen kerran vuonna 2016 voimaan astuneessa opetussuunnitelmassa. Väitöstutkimuksessani tarkastelin, miten 7. ja 8. luokkien oppilaat toteuttivat formatiivista vertaisarviointia fysiikan ja kemian opinnoissaan. Tulokset osoittavat, että rakentava vertaisarviointi vaatii oppilailta palauteosaamista ja toimijuutta, mutta tarjoaa myös mahdollisuuksia kehittää niitä. Opettajan tarvitsee puolestaan ymmärtää vertaisarviointia ja oppilaiden yksilöllisiä ominaisuuksia, jotta hän osaa tukea oppilaita vertaisarvioinnin aikana. How Do Lower-Secondary Students Exercise Agency During Formative Peer Assessment?

Exercising agency is an inherent component of peer assessment. However, the research on agency in peer assessment is scarce. This case study explored how seventh grade science students exercised agency during formative peer assessment. The data comprises audio recordings of students’ classroom discussions, written peer feedback, written work, student interviews, and the researcher’s field notes. With thematic analysis, we identified nine forms of agency as associated with three positions: group member, assessor, and assessee. Learning to live with unloved others is crucial in the ecological crisis. Unloved wasps are feared and disliked for their sting. Understanding of their ecological importance is increasing, however. Human-wasp encounters are changing with environmental changes, and strategies for multispecies cohabitation are needed. This multispecies study highlights features of wasp biology affecting human-wasp encounters and analyzes how conflicted human-wasp relations could be mitigated. The geographical focus is Finland, in the Northern boreal region. Children’s low physical activity levels call for an investigation of what can promote activity for excessively sedentary children. The purpose of this longitudinal mixed-method case study in an early childhood education (ECE) environment was to observe one sedentary child’s free outdoor playtime in four seasons and determine the physical environmental factors changing his activity from sedentary to physically active. Systematic observation of video material and quantitative analysis were used to identify the most sedentary individual of the one ECE group. The child was named “John”. This study investigate dobstacles to encounters with staff as experienced by parents in the context of institutional pre-primary education in Finland. The study contributes to education research by exploring parents’ perceptions and experiences of encounters with staff from the perspectives of Buber’s (1923/1987; 1947/2002) dialogic philosophy and Giorgi`s (1994) phenomenological psychology. Artikkelissa esittelemme kahden Adolf von Beckerin nimiin signeeratun Ateljeessa-teoksen tutkimusta taidehistorian, maalaustekniikan ja materiaalitutkimuksen näkökulmista. Samalla pyrimme tuomaan esiin mitä uutta moniammatillinen yhteistyö ja luonnontieteessä käytetyt menetelmät on tuoneet taideteosten tutkimukseen. Tutkimuksessa voitiin osoittaa, että toinen teoksista on alkuperäinen ja toinen on kopio siitä. Kopion maalaajaksi osoittautui Hilda Granstedt.
