Renin-angiotensin system gene polymorphisms: relationship with blood pressure and microalbuminuria in telmisartan-treated hypertensive patients.

This study analyzed the relationship between four renin–angiotensin system (RAS) gene polymorphisms and the response to blood pressure lowering and development of microalbuminuria in 206 patients with essential hypertension treated once daily for 12 months with telmisartan 80 mg. Seated cuff blood pressure and urinary albumin excretion (UAE) were measured throughout the study. Patients were screened for the presence of the A-6G variant of the angiotensinogen gene, angiotensin-converting enzyme insertion/deletion polymorphism, and the A1166C and C573T polymorphisms of the angiotensin II type 1 receptor gene. Growth hormone, a polypeptide encoded by the GH gene, is a member of the somatotropin/prolactin family of hormones, which plays an important role on milk production and metabolism. In bovine, a single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) in exon 5 changes leucine to valine (CTG to GTG) in the mature GH molecule. The purpose of this study was to evaluate, in Modicana and Cinisara cows, the effects of genetic polymorphism at GH locus and its interaction with feeding system on milk traits. Stability of moving viscoelastic panels interacting with surrounding fluid

We study a model describing the out-of-plane vibrations of an axially moving viscoelastic panel submerged in flowing fluid. The panel is assumed to travel at a constant velocity between two fixed supports, and it is modeled as a flat panel made of viscoelastic Kelvin-Voigt material. The fluid flow is modeled with the help of the added mass coefficients. The resulting dynamic equation is a partial differential equation of fifth order in space. Five boundary conditions are set for the studied problem. The behavior of the panel is analyzed with the help of its eigenvalues (eigenfrequencies).
