The homeland association movement in Germany is an important element of the social and political landscape of that country. The importance of this movement and its influence upon the political system of Germany underwent evolution. Identity construction in ELF contexts: a case study of Finnish engineering students working in Germany

This paper explores connections between identity and language use in lingua franca contexts by investigating identity construction among Finnish users of English as revealed in interviews conducted both before and after a period spent in Germany. The focus is on the users' own stories of their language use and learning, and on the discursive construction of identities. The study draws on poststructuralist theories of identity construction, combining them with research that focuses on language learners' identity construction or on identity issues in contexts with English as a lingua franca. Tutkimuksessa tarkasteltiin vanhemmuustyylien ja lasten sisäänpäin ja ulospäin suuntautuvan ongelmakäyttäytymisen välisiä yhteyksiä sekä lasten lukivaikeusriskin muuntavia vaikutuksia näissä yhteyksissä. Tutkimus toteutettiin osana laajempaa Alkuportaat-tutkimushanketta, jossa seurataan lapsia esiopetusvuodesta neljännen luokan loppuun. Tässä tutkimuksessa oli mukana 608 yksilöseurannassa olevaa lasta sekä heidän vanhempansa ja opettajansa. Fish were fed two different diets (Anchovy- and Herring-oil based) that differed in polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) concentrations. This paper explores ideological elements regarding gender in phraseological units with the word mujer(‘woman’) in the different editions of the dictionarypublished by Real Academia Española during the 18th and the 19th centuries. First, the ideological content in the phraseological units themselves is analyzed. Second, phenomena related to subjectivity in the definitions are analyzed: this evidences subjectivity not only in the different phraseological units presented in the dictionary, but also in the discourse of the academics.
