The IL22RA2 locus is associated with risk for multiple sclerosis (MS) but causative variants are yet to be determined. In a single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) screen of this locus in a Basque population, rs28385692, a rare coding variant substituting Leu for Pro at position 16 emerged significantly (p = 0.02). This variant is located in the signal peptide (SP) shared by the three secreted protein isoforms produced by IL22RA2 (IL-22 binding protein-1(IL-22BPi1), IL-22BPi2 and IL-22BPi3). Behcet's disease is a multisystem disease in which there is evidence of immunological dysregulation. It has been proposed that γ/δ T cells are involved in its pathogenesis. The aim of the present study was to assess the capacity of γ/δ T cells with phenotype Vγ9/Vδ2, from a group of Italian patients with Behcet's disease, to proliferate in the presence of various phosphoantigens and to express tumour necrosis factor (TNF) and IL-12 receptors. Purpose: The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of magnetic fields (MF) of different intensity generated by a magnetic resonance (MR) unit (0.5 Tesla) and a double cylindrical coil (0.5 mTesla) on human CD4+ T cell lines. Recent evidence shows that dendritic cells (DC) not only initiate T cell responses, but are also involved in silencing of T cell immune responses. To investigate the influence of avidity on T cell activation in vitro and in vivo, we analyzed T cells from St40 and St42 mice, which express the same transgenic TCR specific for an E1a-derived epitope of adenovirus type 5 with different expression levels and therefore different avidities.
