Optimisation d'un électromyostimulateur intelligent pour le reconditionnement musculaire
2017
This project aims to optimize smart electromyostimulators for the muscular reeducation. The electrostimulator optimization aims to improve the electrostimulation sessions (EMS) by obtaining informations on the muscular electical stimulations and the control application in real time in order to control the muscular response. Various control methods of the muscular force are been developed and applied on an accurate model. In first, the techniques will be applied on the partial model without taking into account the muscular fatigue then in second in taking into account the presence of fatigue and its effects. Theses control methods act on the stimulation parameters in frequency and in amplitu…
Automatic Emulation by Adaptive Relevance Vector Machines
2017
This paper introduces an automatic methodology to construct emulators for costly radiative transfer models (RTMs). The proposed method is sequential and adaptive, and it is based on the notion of the acquisition function by which instead of optimizing the unknown RTM underlying function we propose to achieve accurate approximations. The proposed methodology combines the interpolation capabilities of a modified Relevance Vector Machine (RVM) with the accurate design of an acquisition function that favors sampling in low density regions and flatness of the interpolation function. The proposed Relevance Vector Machine Automatic Emulator (RAE) is illustrated in toy examples and for the construc…
Dopamine agonist cabergoline reduces hemoconcentration and ascites in hyperstimulated women undergoing assisted reproduction.
2007
Abstract Context: Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) results from increased vascular permeability (VP) caused by ovarian hypersecretion of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), which activates its receptor-2. In animals, the dopamine receptor 2 agonist cabergoline (Cb2) inactivates VEGF receptor-2 and prevents increased VP. Objective: Our objective was to test whether Cb2 reduces VP and prevents OHSS in humans. Design: We conducted a prospective, randomized, double-blind study on oocyte donors at risk of developing OHSS (>20 follicles, >12 mm developed, and >20 oocytes retrieved). Interventions: Cb2 0.5 mg/d (n = 37) or a placebo (n = 32) was administered fro…
Endoscopic surgery of the rhinobasis with a computer-assisted localizer
1996
The endoscope is useful for the diagnosis and surgical therapy of diseases of the nose, the paranasal sinuses and its neighboring regions, and allows for microinvasive, functional approaches. The reduced invasiveness of therapeutic procedures is sometimes accompanied by insufficient clearness of the surgical field, however. This significant problem is solved by the computer-assisted-surgery (CAS) system, an intraoperative localizer. It allows continuous orientation based on three-dimensional reconstructed preoperative CT scans with superimposed positioning of the endoscope. We have now adapted CAS for endoscopic sinus surgery, which meant that a variety of visualization methods were tested.…
Choledochocele imaged with magnetic resonance cholangiography.
2000
Choledochal cysts are rare developmental malformations of the biliary tree. Percutaneous and endoscopic ultrasound, as well as endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography, are recommended diagnostic tools. Magnetic resonance cholangiography may also contribute to the workup and treatment plan of patients with choledochal cysts. We report a 25-yr-old white woman with episodic nausea and moderate epigastric dyscomfort. Magnetic resonance cholangiography showed a rather spherical, cyst-like, fluid-filled structure in continuity with the prepapillary segment of the common bile duct, thus making a choledochocele (type III choledochal cyst) likely. The patient was treated by endoscopic sphinct…
Going standalone and platform-independent, an example from recent work on the ATLAS Detector Description and interactive data visualization
2019
Until recently, the direct visualization of the complete ATLAS experiment geometry and final analysis data was confined within the software framework of the experiment. To provide a detailed interactive data visualization capability to users, as well as easy access to geometry data, and to ensure platform independence and portability, great effort has been recently put into the modernization of both the core kernel of the detector description and the visualization tools. In this proceedings we will present the new tools, as well as the lessons learned while modernizing the experiment’s code for an efficient use of the detector description and for user-friendly data visualization. Until rece…
A New On-Line Roughness Control in Finish Turning Operation
1996
A new on-line control method for the wear state of sintered carbide tools for finish turning operations is proposed.
Decision-making Tool for Moving from 3-axes to 5-axes CNC Machine-tool
2016
Abstract Nowadays most of the parts within machine-building industry are machines on CNC machine-tools. According to their mechanical and kinematic structure, CNC machine-tools can be divided into 3-axes and 5-axes ones. Each type has its advantages and drawbacks and choosing between them could be a very difficult process. This paper presents a decision support tool for aiding the process of selecting between using and/or buying either a 3-axes CNC milling machine or a 5-axes milling machine, based upon fuzzy logic. The tool was built using the Fuzzy Logic Toolbox and the fuzzy graphical user interface (GUI) within Matlab software package.
Dental anatomy portrayed with microscopic volume investigations
1993
The clinical treatment of the root canal of teeth--called endodontics--assumes a precise idea of the spatial arrangement of the anatomy of teeth and their inner structure. By using computer-assisted data acquisition from filmed sequences of histologic serial sections and a special kind of magnetic resonance microscope--the Stray Field Imaging (STRAFI)--volume investigations were carried out using special functions of a newly developed 3D software. Possible applications and future perspectives are discussed.
Robot-Forming - An Incremental Forming Process Using an Industrial Robot by Means of DELMIA Software Package
2013
The purpose of this research is to present an alternative method for manufacturing sheet metal parts using an asymmetric incremental forming process by means of an industrial robot. This method is based on designing, simulating and generating the toolpath for the tool attached to the robot using DELMIA software package. The proposed approach allows users to check for system collisions, robot joins limitations and singularity problems. After a comprehensive simulation of the movements of the robot is performed, the program code can be generated by means of a specific DELMIA function. The program can be used afterwards to control the robot during the experimental work. In order to demonstrate…
