AN APPROACH TO CORRECTING IMAGE DISTORTION BY SELF CALIBRATION STEREOSCOPIC SCENE FROM MULTIPLE VIEWS

International audience; An important step in the analysis and interpretation of video scenes for recognizing scenario is the aberration corrections introduced during the image acquisition in order to provide and correct real image data. This paper presents an approach on distortion correction based on stereoscopic self calibration from images sequences by using a multi-camera system of vision (network cameras). This approach for correcting image distortion brings an elegant and robust technique with good accuracy. Without any knowledge of shooting conditions, the camera's parameters will be estimated. Restoration and Enhancement of Historical Stereo Photos

Restoration of digital visual media acquired from repositories of historical photographic and cinematographic material is of key importance for the preservation, study and transmission of the legacy of past cultures to the coming generations. In this paper, a fully automatic approach to the digital restoration of historical stereo photographs is proposed, referred to as Stacked Median Restoration plus (SMR+). The approach exploits the content redundancy in stereo pairs for detecting and fixing scratches, dust, dirt spots and many other defects in the original images, as well as improving contrast and illumination. Application of Periodic Frames to Image Restoration

In this chapter, we present examples of image restoration using periodic frames. Images to be restored were degraded by blurring, aggravated by random noise and random loss of significant number of pixels. The images are transformed by periodic frames designed in Sects. 17.2 and 17.4, which are extended to the 2D setting in a standard tensor product way. In the presented experiments, performances of different tight and semi-tight frames are compared between each other in identical conditions.
