Novel VAMPIRE algorithms for quantitative analysis of the retinal vasculature

This paper summarizes three recent, novel algorithms developed within VAMPIRE, namely optic disc and macula detection, arteryvein classification, and enhancement of binary vessel masks, and their performance assessment. VAMPIRE is an international collaboration growing a suite of software tools to allow efficient quantification of morphological properties of the retinal vasculature in large collections of fundus camera images. VAMPIRE measurements are currently mostly used in biomarker research, i.e., investigating associations between the morphology of the retinal vasculature and a number of clinical and cognitive conditions.
Anatomical and functional macular changes after rhegmatogenous retinal detachment with macula off

International audience; Purpose: To evaluate the correlation between morphologic changes in the outer retina and visual function after successful repair of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment with macula off. Methods: Thirty patients (30 eyes) with successful repair of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment (RD) after macula off and a minimum 6-month follow-up after the surgery were examined. Preoperative characteristics of the RD (visual acuity and duration) were collected. Postoperative visual acuity measurement with ETDRS scale and fundus autofluorescence (FAF) were performed. The objective of this paper is to report on the activities carried out during the first year of the Italian project “Use of COSMO-SkyMed data for LANDcover classification and surface parameters retrieval over agricultural sites” (COSMOLAND), funded by the Italian Space Agency. The project intends to contribute to the COSMO-SkyMed mission objectives in the agriculture and hydrology application domains.

Artykuł podejmuje próbę rekonstrukcji „śladów“ literackich „wielkiej damy“ literatury niemieckiej – Ricardy Huch – na obszarze idei myśli krajów śródziemnomorskich na przykładzie Włoch. Na przełomie wieków XIX i XX Huch zainteresowała się jako historyk i powieściopisarz historią walk narodowowyzwoleńczych we Włoszech i wystawiła swoisty pomnik literacki bohaterom włoskiego risorgimento. Również przeżycia osobiste związane z Italią, znalazły wydźwięk w powieści społecznej Aus der Triumphgasse [Z alei wolności].

Changes in river pattern have been documented in the literature. The recognition of islands and vegetated patches, which is indicative of the evolution processes, requires simultaneous information at different points and at different times and field studies are still difficult and scarce. Artykuł poddaje analizie zasadność penalizacji z art.191a ustawy karnej, a także jego umiejscowienie w systematyce kodeksowej, konfrontując stanowiska doktryny prawa karnego przy uwzględnieniu trudności interpretacyjnych podczas jego praktycznego stosowania. Ponadto zostały omówione znamiona przedmiotowego przepisu, które w konsekwencji doprowadziły do konkluzji, iż istnieje potrzeba znowelizowania art. 191a, dodając do niego typ kwalifikowany przestępstwa, skutkującego targnięciem się poszkodowanego na swoje życie.
