Software for simulating dichromatic perception of video streams

We have designed a configurable stand-alone Matlab-based software to simulate dichromatic perception of video streams. The algorithm used is an extension for video streams of the “corresponding pair algorithm” by Capilla and coworkers for simulation of dichromatic perception of images. The software allows the user to upload a video sequence and to process it using different dichromatic color vision models and viewing conditions. The output video may be generated in different spatial and temporal resolutions and file formats. Colour image segmentation and labeling through multiedit-condensing

Abstract A new method is proposed for detecting and locating objects of interest within a colour scene under very strong variabilities in lighting conditions, object shape and pigmentation. The method is based on Nearest Neighbour classification and Multiedit-Condensing techniques and is applied to implement the vision subsystem of a robotic citric harvesting device. Experiments and results are reported showing the effectiveness of the method and illustrating its appropriateness to the proposed task.

A CFA produces a mosaic image, and normally a subsequent CFA demosaick-ing algorithm interpolates the mosaic image and estimates the full-resolution colour image. Among various types of optical aberrations from which a mosaic image may suffer, chromatic aberration (CA) influences the spatial and spectral correlation through the artefacts such as blur and mis-registration, which demosaicking also relies on. The sensitivity conjecture of Nisan and Szegedy [12] asks whether the maximum sensitivity of a Boolean function is polynomially related to the other major complexity measures of Boolean functions. Despite major advances in analysis of Boolean functions in the past decade, the problem remains wide open with no positive result toward the conjecture since the work of Kenyon and Kutin from 2004 [11].

Abstract Let X be a compactum and G an upper semi-continuous decomposition of X such that each element of G is the continuous image of an ordered compactum. If the quotient space X / G is the continuous image of an ordered compactum, under what conditions is X also the continuous image of an ordered compactum? Examples around the (non-metric) Hahn–Mazurkiewicz Theorem show that one must place severe conditions on G if one wishes to obtain positive results. We prove that the compactum X is the image of an ordered compactum when each g ∈ G has 0-dimensional boundary. We also consider the case when G has only countably many non-degenerate elements. S_Kernel: A New Symmetry Measure

Symmetry is an important feature in vision. Several detectors or transforms have been proposed. In this paper we concentrate on a measure of symmetry. Given a transform S, the kernel SK of a pattern is defined as the maximal included symmetric sub-set of this pattern. It is easily proven that, in any direction, the optimal axis corresponds to the maximal correlation of a pattern with its flipped version. For the measure we compute a modified difference between respective surfaces of a pattern and its kernel. That founds an efficient algorithm to attention focusing on symmetric patterns.

In this paper we consider, in the framework of coherence, four different definitions of conjunction among conditional events. In each of these definitions the conjunction is still a conditional event. We first recall the different definitions of conjunction; then, given a coherent probability assessment (x, y) on a family of two conditional events \(\{A|H,B|K\}\), for each conjunction \((A|H) \wedge (B|K)\) we determine the (best) lower and upper bounds for the extension \(z=P[(A|H) \wedge (B|K)]\). Purpose: The aim of this work is to study the differences of reference point doses between the commercial EPID based dosimetry software Dosimetry Check (DC) and TPS to establish an accuracy level of the system, to evaluate its use in clinical routine and to obtain results for the first patients. Methods: We used DC v.3.8 (Math Resolutions), two Varian Clinac iX accelerators equipped with EPID aS1000 and Eclipse v.10.0 with AAA algorithm.
