E-learning approach of the graph coloring problem applied to register allocation in embedded systems
2016
The main aim of this paper consists in developing an effective e-learning tool, focused on evolutionary algorithms, in order to solve the graph coloring problem. Subsidiary, we apply graph coloring for register allocation in embedded systems. From didactic viewpoint, our tool has benefits in the learning process because it helps students to observe the relationship between the graph coloring problem and CPU registers allocation with the help of four developed modules: the genetic algorithm, the graphical viewer, the interference graph for a C program and a web application which collects the simulation results. All these applications are combined by a graphical interface which allows the use…
Towards a Comprehensive Understanding of Body Image: Integrating Positive Body Image, Embodiment and Self-Compassion.
2021
Body image (BI) disturbance is a relevant factor in the etiology and treatment of eating disorders (ED). Although progress has been made in recent decades in understanding BI and its relationship with ED, the efficacy of BI disturbance prevention and intervention programs is still limited. In order to reach deeper understanding of BI disturbance and clarify the interactions between some protective and risk factors related to this construct, we carried out a literature review on some specific BI-related factors that so far have been analyzed independently. We specifically examined positive and negative BI; embodiment and its role in the development of positive and negative BI; and self-compa…
Properties and constraints of cheating-immune secret sharing schemes
2006
AbstractA secret sharing scheme is a cryptographic protocol by means of which a dealer shares a secret among a set of participants in such a way that it can be subsequently reconstructed by certain qualified subsets. The setting we consider is the following: in a first phase, the dealer gives in a secure way a piece of information, called a share, to each participant. Then, participants belonging to a qualified subset send in a secure way their shares to a trusted party, referred to as a combiner, who computes the secret and sends it back to the participants.Cheating-immune secret sharing schemes are secret sharing schemes in the above setting where dishonest participants, during the recons…
THERMOGRAPHIC CHARACTERIZATION OF A LANDFILL TROUGH AN UNMANNED AERIAL VEHICLE
2019
The use of the thermal imaging camera for Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) survey is to date very common for environmental analysis, especially if high spatial resolution images are required. Some analyses require images to be acquired close to sunrise, to avoid the influence of the incident solar radiation on the surface temperature, as in the case of a landfill survey. Indeed, thermal anomalies due to generated landfill biogas can be characterized once other heat sources are excluded. In this framework, thermal images need to be processed similarly to optical images by typical photogrammetric workflows producing both a Digital Surface Model (DSM) and an ortho-image. The low spatial resolutio…
Minimum configuration of thermal infrared bands for land surface temperature and emissivity estimation in the context of potential future missions
2014
Abstract A number of applications rely on the availability of high resolution TIR data, both in terms of spatial and temporal resolution, as well as in terms of spectral configuration. A consensus exists among the thermal community regarding the lack of such a kind of data, since only one operational sensor is currently providing multispectral TIR data at high spatial resolution (the case of ASTER, at 90 m spatial resolution and a 16-day revisit time). In this paper we propose a minimum multispectral configuration to allow the retrieval of both land surface temperature (LST) and emissivity ( e ) from thermal infra-red (TIR) data. For this purpose, we propose a minimum configuration based on…
Land Surface Temperature Retrieval Methods From Landsat-8 Thermal Infrared Sensor Data
2014
The importance of land surface temperature (LST) retrieved from high to medium spatial resolution remote sensing data for many environmental studies, particularly the applications related to water resources management over agricultural sites, was a key factor for the final decision of including a thermal infrared (TIR) instrument on board the Landsat Data Continuity Mission or Landsat-8. This new TIR sensor (TIRS) includes two TIR bands in the atmospheric window between 10 and 12 $\mu\hbox{m}$ , thus allowing the application of split-window (SW) algorithms in addition to single-channel (SC) algorithms or direct inversions of the radiative transfer equation used in previous sensors on board …
