3D modelling tools from photographic pictures have experienced significant improvements in the last years. One of the most outstanding changes is the spread of the photogrammetric systems based on algorithms referred to as Structure from Motion (SfM) in contrast with the traditional stereoscopic pairs. Head Pose Estimation for Sign Language Video

We address the problem of estimating three head pose angles in sign language video using the Pointing04 data set as training data. The proposed model employs facial landmark points and Support Vector Regression learned from the training set to identify yaw and pitch angles independently. A simple geometric approach is used for the roll angle. As a novel development, we propose to use the detected skin tone areas within the face bounding box as additional features for head pose estimation. The accuracy level of the estimators we obtain compares favorably with published results on the same data, but the smaller number of pose angles in our setup may explain some of the observed advantage.

This paper describes Intelligent Eye, a mobile phone interactive leisure guide that offers location-based multimedia information. The information offered is related to the user's position, so the main goal of this work is the development of an efficient system to detect where the user is pointing his/her camera at by means of a content-based image retrieval algorithm (CBIR). Remote photoplethysmography device with adaptive illumination for skin microcirculation assessment

Measuring blood perfusion is important in medical care. However, currently available devices to measure blood perfusion are bulky, expensive and not easy-to-use. In this work a compact and portable low-cost prototype device for remote monitoring of palm skin microcirculation has been developed. Presented device consists of precisely controlled near-infrared illuminators (760nm peak wavelength) and video camera. The device with the custom designed software provides stable uniform illumination of curved skin surfaces, using feedback algorithm. Verification tests of this device showed improvements in the quality of skin blood perfusion maps in the case when the feedback system was used.

Photoplethysmography imaging algorithm for continuous monitoring of regional anesthesia

An efficient photoplethy smography imaging system and advanced algorithm for continuous monitoring of skin microcirculation was developed. The system comprises compact device and computer with software for visualizing of skin blood volume changes. The software is able to process high-resolution microcirculation amplitude maps in real-time. It was tested in clinical environment during the regional anesthesia procedures. The Eulerian-based method showed improved sensitivity and higher resolution of microcirculation maps.

Currently, network traffic monitoring tools do not fit well in the monitoring of cloud computing infrastructures. These tools are not integrated with the control plane of the cloud computing stack. Convolutional Long Short-Term Memory Network for Multitemporal Cloud Detection Over Landmarks

In this work, we propose to exploit both the temporal and spatial correlations in Earth observation satellite images through deep learning methods. In particular, the combination of a U-Net convolutional neural network together with a convolutional long short-term memory (LSTM) layer is proposed. This model is applied for cloud detection on MSG/SEVIRI image time series over selected landmarks.
