Bildgebende Diagnostik der Peritonealkarzinose
1990
Two hundred and eighty-seven radiological and sonographic examinations in 142 patients with confirmed peritoneal carcinosis were evaluated retrospectively. The examinations included abdominal films (19), infusion urograms (20), contrast examinations of the intestine (26), small bowel enemas (2), double-contrast examinations of the colon (40), demonstrations with water-soluble contrast (6), sonographies (80) and CTs (96). CT and colonic double-contrast studies were complementary and valuable methods for diagnosing peritoneal carcinosis and should both be used.

Der Sicherheitsgurt: Auswirkungen auf das Verletzungsmuster von Autoinsassen
1993
Since 1984 the law concerning safety belts has been implemented; this paper deals with the findings in 386 victims of motor accidents who were x-rayed between 1981 and 1989. Minor injuries have been ignored. The number of passengers wearing belts increased by 30% after 1984. The number of passenger injuries did not decrease. Injuries directly caused by the belts included a small number of fractures of clavicles, the sternum and ribs and one pelvic fracture, one serious abdominal injury with tearing of the mesenteric artery and one ruptured spleen. An indirect result of wearing seat belts was a marked increase in cervical whiplash injuries and some increase in thoracic vertebral fractures. N…
Duplexsonographie abdomineller Gefäße
1987
Duplex sonography is a non-invasive procedure which permits the determination of flow velocity and direction in visceral vessels. Results in 50 normals have shown that small arteries can be evaluated in about 50% of cases. The portal venous system can be demonstrated in all cases; average flow velocity and volume is 15.2 +/- 2.8 cm/s and 694 +/- 230 ml/min, corresponding with the values obtained by invasive methods. Clinical application for duplex examinations can be found in portal hypertension, varices, thromboses, aneurysms and transplant kidneys.
Weekend courses on ultrasonography as a form of teaching knowledge and the skills necessary to perform ultrasounds in the family physician’s practice
2017
Background. Growth in ultrasound use by non-radiologists has outpaced radiologist-performed ultrasound in the last decade. Poland has a well-organized system of teaching ultrasonography. Objectives. To establish whether family physicians, after completion of weekend courses on ultrasound abdominal cavity imaging, recommend this form of training. To identify main reasons for family physician to attend training in USG, their preferences regarding the form of such courses and the difficulties most often faced by family physicians when performing a USG. Material and methods. This survey-based study using the authors’ own questionnaire was conducted in March 2016 among 81 primary care physicians…

1991
The radiation exposure during biomechanical investigation of the shoulder joint done with a digital radiography system (Polytron 1000 VR - Siemens) was measured experimentally. Total radiation dose and surface dose were determined by phantom measurements. The radiation exposure per image is about 1/6 to 1/7 of that of a conventional study. The digital radiography system used is thus suitable for kinesiologic studies of large joints in healthy volunteers.
