Energy Performance and Indoor Comfort of a 1930s Italian School Building: A case study
2021
Reducing energy consumption in the building tertiary sector, which accounts for a big share of the total energy use (and related CO 2 emissions) at European and Italian level, represent a strong element of safety for the EU-28. On the other hand, it is important to improve the, often overlooked, indoor comfort conditions of Italian schools since they have a significant impact on the well-being, productivity, health and safety of their occupants. Thus, it is appropriate to take into account the combination of both needs, also in light of the climate change scenario, in order to identify adequate improvement measures and justify such economic investment. This paper brings a contribution to th…
this is how we artistically visualise it.
2017
[EN] This study forms part of the project titled: “Aesthetic Quality Research of Three Valencian Schools”. Through it, one may perceive how the architecture, visual culture and daily aesthetics constitute a network that encompasses the conditions for a quality teaching`learning process. Therefore, the aesthetic experience is presented in a way to explore the daily school routine from an interactive perspective between one’s body and their environment. This research took place during 2016 at three schools located in Alicante (Spain). Those schools were chosen as being representative of diverse situations: a multicultural urban school a gypsy`ethnic background urban school and a transient`pop…

Promoting Inquiry Based Learning through entertaining science activities
2021
Considering students’ increasing lack of interest and motivation for science subjects, it becomes almost imperative to introduce different methodology approaches in classrooms. Besides, decontextualized science teaching, where hands on activities are not sufficiently taken into account, can make the students attitude toward science-learning even worse. Inquiry Based Learning where elements such as games, toys and short experiments are included is showed as a useful methodological proposal. This paper presents how the use of these entertaining science activities can improve students’ interest and encourage them to speak about science, acquiring better argumentation and inquiry skills when th…

Scientific networks and research groups development: educational Psychology case in Spain during the five-year periods 2004-2008 and 2009-2013

SEA WATER TEMPERATURE RECORDS GATHERED DURING EXPERIMENTAL BOTTOM TRAWL SURVEYS IN THE STRAIT OF SICILY (MEDITERRANEAN SEA)
2009
Depth and sea water temperature values recorded by a Minilog system during several bottom trawl surveys carried out in the Strait of Sicily (Central Mediterranean Sea) in spring (MEDITS) and late summer (GRUND), were analyzed by using an ad hoc developed software (MiSeAT). Depth and temperature profiles were analyzed for each haul. Three sea water temperature (t°C) values were considered: the upper and lower water layers temperature, and the difference between them. Mean values by depth stratum and the corresponding standard deviations were estimated for the three parameters, then compared between the two seasons. Haul parameters recorded during the more heterogeneous GRUND surveys (due to …
2016
In this paper we try to discover which methodology is more appropriate for the comprehension of the contemporary music in the Secondary Education. For that purpose by a quasi-experiment, mixed, qualitative and quantitative, the preserved results through the application of two different methodologies have been compared: a traditional one base on the masterly class and another based in different kinds of audition. The obtained results after the didactical application on the quantitative level weren´t significant, however, on the qualitative level we could also observe that the pupils who subjected to that methodology had more advantageous results regarding to the comprehension of the contempo…
