New Inferences on Magma Dynamics in Melilitite-Carbonatite Volcanoes: The Case Study of Mt. Vulture (Southern Italy)

This study provides the first micro-thermometric data of fluid inclusions (FIs) in mafic loose (disaggregated) xenocrysts and ultramafic xenoliths in explosive products of the melilitite-carbonatite Mt. Vulture volcano (southern Italy). Pure CO2 late stage FIs hosted in rock-forming minerals of wehrlite xenoliths and clinopyroxene xenocrysts were trapped at the local crust-mantle boundary (32 km). In contrast, trapping pressures within the loose olivine xenocrysts are from 3.2 to 4.5 kbar (8–13 km). Mobile money provides a tool for survival, particularly in urban conditions shaped by city regulations that make microvending difficult for the poor. An analysis of 165 interviews conducted in two low-income neighborhoods in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania over 8 years demonstrates how interlocked layers of technology and interaction make mobile money services semiformal. Glucocorticoid-sensitive hereditary inclusion body myositis.

We report a hereditary muscle disorder with features of inclusion body myositis (IBM) in two adult sisters with slowly progressive asymmetrical muscle weakness. The findings of light microscopic and ultrastructural investigations of muscle biopsy specimens were consistent with a diagnosis of IBM. Both patients improved and stabilized on immunosuppressive treatment with corticosteroids and azathioprine. This differentiates our patients from other sporadic and familial cases of IBM. Clinical and histological features are described and compared with those of other previously reported families with IBM.

Narratives of children with high-functioning autism spectrum disorder: A meta-analysis

Abstract Background The aim of this meta-analysis was to analyze the narrative performance of children and adolescents with high-functioning Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) in terms of microstructure, macrostructure and internal state language. Method A systematic literature search yielded 24 studies that met the predetermined inclusion criteria. Effect sizes for each study were calculated for eight variables and analyzed using a random effects model. Intellectual ability, age and type of narrative were considered as potential moderators.
