Effects of rapid thermal annealing on the optical properties of low-loss 1.3μm GaInNAs∕GaAs saturable Bragg reflectors

We report studies of the effect of rapid thermal annealing (RTA) on the optical properties of a low-loss 1.3 mum saturable Bragg reflector (SBR), consisting of a GaInNAs/GaAs single quantum well embedded in an AlAs/GaAs Bragg reflector grown monolithically on a GaAs substrate. RTA gives rise to a blueshift of the photoluminescence (PL) peak (and therefore of the excitonic absorption peak) and an enhancement of PL intensity, while the reflectivity properties including peak reflectivity and bandwidth are not degraded. Gambling Disorder is a prevalent non-substance use disorder, which contrasts with the low number of people requesting treatment. Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) could help to enhance the dissemination of evidence-based treatments and considerably reduce the costs. The current study seeks to assess the efficacy of an online psychological intervention for people suffering from gambling problems in Spain. The proposed study will be a two-arm, parallel-group, randomized controlled trial. The variations of the glass transition temperature (Tg), the dilatation coefficient (α) and the refractive index (n) have been studied for two glasses series: GaxGe25−xSb10S65 (series 1), Ga5Ge25−xSb10S60+x (series 2). The present study examined the effect of participants' music genre preference on the neural processes underlying evaluative and cognitive judgements of music using the event-related potential technique. To this aim, two participant groups differing in their preference for Latin American and Heavy Metal music performed a liking judgement and a genre classification task on a variety of excerpts of either music genre. A late positive potential (LPP) was elicited in all conditions between 600 and 900 ms after stimulus onset. Bakalaura darba tēma ir AS Grindeks un AS Olainfarm finanšu darbības rādītāju analīze un salīdzinājums. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir, pamatojoties uz AS Grindeks un AS Olainfarm gada pārskatu finanšu analīzi, novērtēt uzņēmumu finansiālo stāvokli un izstrādāt priekšlikumus to uzlabošanai. Bakalaura darbā tika apkopotas galvenās finanšu analīzes teorētiskās pamatnostādnes, tālāk tika veikts AS Grindeks un AS Olainfarm finansiālā stāvokļa novērtējums, izmantojot finanšu analīzes rādītājus, kā arī iegūtie rezultāti tika salīdzināti uzņēmumu starpā un ar farmācijas nozares vidējiem rādītājiem. Darba kopējais apjoms ir 100 lappuses un sastāv no 4 nodaļām.
Are remote sensing evapotranspiration models reliable across South American ecoregions?

Many remote sensing-based evapotranspiration (RSBET) algorithms have been proposed in the past decades and evaluated using flux tower data, mainly over North America and Europe. Model evaluation across South America has been done locally or using only a single algorithm at a time. Here, we provide the first evaluation of multiple RSBET models, at a daily scale, across a wide variety of biomes, climate zones, and land uses in South America. We used meteorological data from 25 flux towers to force four RSBET models: Priestley–Taylor Jet Propulsion Laboratory (PT-JPL), Global Land Evaporation Amsterdam Model (GLEAM), Penman–Monteith Mu model (PM-MOD), and Penman–Monteith Nagler model (PME-VI).…
Quantification of LAI interannual anomalies by adjusting climatological patterns

International audience; Scaling variations and shifts in the timing of seasonal phenology are central features of global change research. In this study, we propose a novel climatology fitting approach to quantify inter-annual anomalies in LAI seasonality. A consistent archive of daily LAI estimates was first derived from historical AVHRR satellite data for the 1981-2000 period over a globally representative sample of sites. The climatology values were then computed by averaging multi-year LAI profiles, gap filling and smoothing to eliminate possible high temporal frequency residual artifacts. Absolute measurement of quadratic nonlinearities from phase-matched second-harmonic generation in a single KTP crystal cut as a sphere

We determine within an accuracy of ∼10% the absolute magnitude of the quadratic effective coefficients of types I and II phase-matched second-harmonic generation from conversion efficiency measurements in a single nonlinear crystal cut as a sphere. The agreement is good with measurements performed in thin parallelepipedal samples. The material studied is KTiOPO4, for which improved Sellmeier equations are given.
