2017
A close examination of the intersection of printed and unpublished sources allows, in a comprehensive manner, to reconstruct the history of the project of the Vocabularium iurisprudentiae Romanae. Within this unitary framework the idea that interpolationism was based on a lexical motive, and not on a juridical one, is discussed.
Spaghetti Enriched with Inulin: Effect of Polymerization Degree on Quality Traits and α-Amylase Inhibition.
2022
Inulin is considered a dietary fiber and represents a noteworthy ingredient for food biofortification due to its health effects and its neutral taste. The aim of the work was the evaluation of the quality of pasta produced using whole-meal flours of two ancient Sicilian landraces (Senatore Cappelli-CAP and Timilia—TIM) fortified with two types of inulin (long-chain topinambur inulin IT and low-chain chicory inulin IC), at two different levels of substitution (2 and 4%) to evaluate its possible effect on α-amylase inhibition. The color indices L* and a* were mainly influenced by cultivars, while IT improved the sensory attributes, mainly the elasticity sensation, and influenced l…
Latvijas armijas neregulārās karaspēka vienības Neatkarības kara laikā 1919.-1920.gadā
2020

Guaranteed error bounds for linear algebra problems and a class of Picard-Lindelöf iteration methods
2012
This study focuses on iteration methods based on the Banach fixed point theorem and a posteriori error estimates of Ostrowski. Their application for systems of linear simultaneous equations, bounded linear operators, as well as integral and differential equations is considered. The study presents a new version of the Picard–Lindelöf method for ordinary differential equations (ODEs) supplied with guaranteed and explicitly computable upper bounds of the approximation error. The estimates derived in the thesis take into account interpolation and integration errors and, therefore, provide objective information on the accuracy of computed approximations.

Antenarratives in Ongoing Strategic Change : Using the Story Index to Capture Daunting and Optimistic Futures
2018
Strategic organizational change is a complex, future-oriented phenomenon that is critical for any organization. Traditional means of inquiry have struggled with the difficulty of capturing the future; thus, the methods for managing things to come remain scarce. In this chapter, we contribute to managing strategic change, and thereby the future of the organization, by developing the Story Index (SIX) method. The method facilitates a better understanding of how organizational change takes shape in the discursive reality before materializing in concrete terms. SIX is an analytical process combining antenarratives and narrative rationality to reveal the emerging meanings and rationales of chang…
2023
The book aims to examine in three different legal systems - Italy, France, and Spain - the constitutional guarantees of the independence of the judiciary with a particular focus on the Councils of Justice. It is proposed to examine whether the measures provided by national legal systems have been conditioned by their constitutional traditions and whether or not these guarantees have evolved as a result of the promotion of the rule of law at the European level. A study of some of the documents drawn up at the supranational level to protect the independence of the judiciary reveals a set of criteria that are intertwined in a single weave with those outlined in the case law of the European Cou…
The People’s Assembly: Testing the Collaborative (e)-Democracy
2020
This paper aims to critically analyse the Estonian People’s Assembly (EPA), a crowdsourcing initiative carried out from 2013 to 2014. During the project, citizens could participate in decision-making and make proposals for laws and policies on a dedicated web-platform. Additionally, some people were invited for a traditional off-line debate. In that way, the project combined virtual communication tools with traditional discussion to apply the principles of collaborative e-democracy, in which governmental stakeholders and non-governmental stakeholders (such as local communities) join in a deliberative debate. The purpose of this paper is to observe, both, gains and problems of this crowdsour…
