Consumer Information Services in Intercultural Tourism : An Ethnographic Study of Chinese Outbound Backpackers

This paper reports the findings of an ethnographic study of Chinese outbound backpackers’ use and adoption of consumer information services (CIS) in an intercultural tourism setting. We apply McKenna et al.’s research model of consumers’ adoption of information services as the analytical lens for the interpretive qualitative study. The data gathering was conducted in four different countries. The findings of the study confirm linkages between four information service types and the use and adoption of CIS. An event-driven OS is memory efficient and suitable for resource-constrained IoT devices and wireless sensors, although the program’s control flow, which is determined by events, is not always obvious. A beam search algorithm for minimizing crane times in premarshalling problems

The premarshalling problem consists of sorting the containers placed in a bay of the container yard so that they can be retrieved in the order in which they will be required. We study the premarshalling problem with crane time minimization objective and develop a beam search algorithm, with some new elements adapted to the characteristics of the problem, to solve it. En la presente Tesis Doctoral se aborda el tema general de la romanización de los pueblos ibéricos en la fachada mediterránea peninsular a partir del caso concreto del territorio de una ciudad ibérica, Kelin – Los Villares (Caudete de las Fuentes, València). Dicha ciudad, ocupada entre los siglos VII-I a.C., sabemos que al menos desde el s. V a.C. organizó un territorio a su alrededor, con unos límites muy similares a los de la actual comarca de Requena-Utiel. Measurement of Open Access as an Infrastructural Challenge : The Case of Finland

Finland has set numeric goals for the development of open access. However, at the moment, no system is available by which this development could be monitored. Poor quality in the metadata records in universities’ research information databases prevents metadata-based analysis of open access publishing progress. This paper shows how the quality problems of Finnish publication data can be resolved through centralizing the services and processes of metadata creation and by improving the interoperability of systems involved in the processes.
