Gevinstrealisering tilknyttet skytjenester i offentlig sektor Erfaringer fra tre norske kommuner
2015
For å besvare problem…

Overcoming barriers for successfully building an open source community : a case study of Open e-PRIOR, an e-procurement software project at the Europ…
2012
Masteroppgave i informasjonssystemer- Universitetet i Agder, 2012 In 2009, the European Commission (EC) released an e-Procurement platform named e-PRIOR (electronic PRocurement Invoicing and Ordering). To support the objectives defined in 2010 e-Government action plan, an open source-version of e-PRIOR, called Open e-PRIOR, was also made available. Open e-PRIOR is a key enabler for secure e-Delivery in the e-Procurement domain, and the project aims to foster adoption of e-Procurement at European level. However, Open e-PRIOR is currently managed by the EC, not taking advantage of its open source nature. Besides, the EC also realized that the Open e-PRIOR project is of value both across secto…
Identifying information quality mechanisms : a comparative case study of professional bureaucracies
2011
Masteroppgave i informasjonssystemer- Universitetet i Agder 2011 There has been increasing attention to active management of Information quality (IQ) the later years, due to the severity of the impacts of IQ facing organizations. Still, while large organizations are typically aware of problems related to information and data, they consistently underestimate the extent of the problem and are unaware of the potential and opportunities of IQ management. One reason for difficulties in raising awareness is related to the complex nature of the concept of IQ; IQ is perceived individually and is context-sensitive. IQ research the past two decades has been extensive, where the main focus has been on…
Augmenting the algorithm: emerging human-in-the-loop work configurations
2020
Abstract How do configurations of humans and algorithms evolve as firms adopt artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, and what are the implications for work and organization? We explored these questions through a two-year long case study of an organization in the international maritime trade that introduced automated algorithmic support for data analysis and prediction work. Drawing on a human–machine configuration perspective, we found that humans and the algorithm were configured and reconfigured in multiple ways over time as the organization dealt with the introduction of algorithmic analysis. In contrast to replacing human work, the emergent configurations required new roles and redi…
Political Participation and Democracy in the Information Age: Effects of ICT-Based Communication Forms between the Authorities and the Citizens on Tr…
2009
Bidrag på konferanse: The Third International Conference on Digital Society ICDS 2009 1-7 February 2009 Cancun, Mexico The main trends concerning the traditional channels of participation are reduced voting turnout, reduced participation in political parties, stable participation in associations and increased citizen contact. The influence of ICT based form of communication on the relations between the authorities and the citizens are heavily influenced by the role of the citizens designed by the authorities. If the citizens are treated as customers the authorities are pursuing a consultative model focusing on creating an effective administration. The flow of information is uni linear; howe…
A Framework for Assessing the Condition of Crowds Exposed to a Fire Hazard Using a Probabilistic Model
2014
Published version of an article in the journal: International Journal of Machine Learning and Computing. Also available from the publisher at: http://dx.doi.org/10.7763/IJMLC.2014.V4.379 open Access Allocating limited resources in an optimal manner when rescuing victims from a hazard is a complex and error prone task, because the involved hazards are typically evolving over time; stagnating, building up or diminishing. Typical error sources are: miscalculation of resource availability and the victims’ condition. Thus, there is a need for decision support when it comes to rapidly predicting where the human fatalities are likely to occur to ensure timely rescue. This paper proposes a probabil…
Service-Oriented Architecture for Patient-Centric eHealth Solutions
2014
Doktorgradsavhandling i informasjons- og kommunikasjonsteknologi, Universitetet i Agder, Grimstad, 2014 The world is in shortage of about 7.2 million healthcare workers in 2013, and the figure is estimated to grow to 12.9 million by 2035, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). On the other hand, the median age of the world’s population was predicted to increase from 26.6 years in 2000 to 37.3 years in 2050, and then to 45.6 years in 2100. Thus further escalating the need for new and efficient healthcare solutions. Telehealth, telecare, and Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) solutions promise to make healthcare services more sustainable, and to enable patients to live more independentl…
