Effects of non-tracking solar collector orientation on energy production : photovoltaic systems

Abstract: This Master's thesis proposes a new method for calculating the optimum tilt and orientation angle of a fitted solar collector. In addition to using geographical data, this method takes into account the radiation data and weather statistics of prospective locations. This makes the calculations valid not only for certain latitudes, but also for certain radiation and weather conditions. Calculations were done by estimating the energy production of a given solar array using a sequence of different tilt angles and orientation angles. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli ymmärtää viestinnän merkitys ja rooli organisaation muutostilanteessa. Tässä tapaustutkimuksessa tarkasteltiin vuoden 2010 alusta toimintansa aloittanutta Keski-Suomen ELY-keskusta. Työssä selvitettiin, miten muutoksen koettiin vaikuttaneen ELY-keskuksen toimintakykyyn ja sisäiseen viestintään. Samalla tutkittiin, miten byrokraattinen organisaatiokulttuuri oli yhteydessä sisäiseen viestintään. Aineiston keruun menetelmänä oli kokonaisvaltainen sisäisen viestinnän auditointi, joka toteutettiin keväällä 2011 sähköisellä kyselylomakkeella. Tässä Pro gradu-tutkielmassa selvitettiin, pystytäänkö osinkotuotolla ja makroriskitekijöillä ennustamaan Helsinki OMX -indeksin osaketuottoa. Samalla kartoitettiin osaketuoton, osinkotuoton ja makroriskitekijöiden vaikutussuhteita Suomessa. Makroriskitekijöinä tutkimuksessa käytettiin inflaation, korkoeron ja teollisuustuotannon muutoksia. Tutkimusaineisto sisältää neljännesvuosittaiset havainnot tarkasteltavista muuttujista aikaväliltä 1992 - 2015. Muuttujien ennustekykyä analysoitiin myös vuosiaineistossa. The nasal decongestant oxymetazoline (OMZ) is frequently used in the topical treatment of rhinitis/sinusitis. As proinflammatory cytokines play a critical role in the development and maintenance of local inflammation, the aim of this study was to investigate the influence of OMZ on immune cells in order to diminish the mucosal infiltration of the nose. Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) from buffy coats of healthy volunteers were isolated and stimulated in the presence or absence of OMZ. Recent genome-wide association studies have linked type-2 diabetes mellitus to a genomic region in chromosome 9p21 near the Ink4/Arf locus, which encodes tumor suppressors that are up-regulated in a variety of mammalian organs during aging. However, it is unclear whether the susceptibility to type-2 diabetes is associated with altered expression of the Ink4/Arf locus. In the present study, we investigated the role of Ink4/Arf in age-dependent alterations of insulin and glucose homeostasis using Super-Ink4/Arf mice which bear an extra copy of the entire Ink4/Arf locus.
