One-pot preparation of surface modified boehmite nanoparticles with rare-earth cyclen complexes.
2007
We report on the one-pot synthetic procedure of cyclen derivatives bearing three acetate groups attached on boehmite nanoparticles, the complexing capabilities of these inorganic–organic hybrid materials with rare earth cations, and the behaviour as contrast agents or fluorescence probes. Hybrid Inorganic‐Organic White Light Emitting Diodes
2020
This chapter reviews the state of the art of materials, technologies, characterizations, process and challenges concerning hybrid white light‐emitting diodes (LEDs). Here, for a “hybrid LED” we mean a device based on a layer of organic phosphors (or a mix of inorganic and organic ones) pumped by a high‐energy inorganic LED. Light is emitted by a frequency down‐conversion (sometimes simply named color‐conversion) process. Benefits and weak spots of this technology are investigated with a special attention for the materials involved into the process of frequency down‐conversion, in order to envisage the future impact of the hybrid lighting technology among the well‐established inorganic ones.
Inorganic/organic hybrid nanoparticles synthesized in a two-step radiation-driven process
2022
In this work, we have synthesized inorganic-organic hybrid nanoparticles via radiation synthesis of inorganic nanoparticles (Ag and CeO2) in aqueous dispersions containing radiation-synthesized poly(N-vinyl pyrrolidone) (PVP) nanogels (NG). The experiments show that there are strong interactions between the inorganic precursors (Ag+ and Ce3+) and the nanogel prior to irradiation. The two hybrid systems (Ag/NG and CeO2/NG) were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). XRD confirms the formation of crystalline Ag and CeO2. TEM reveals that the inorganic nanoparticles are evenly distributed in/on the nanogel. Both XRD and TEM show that size of the…
Synthesis and Characterization of TiO2 Based Inorganic-Organic Hybrid Photocatalysts for Enhancing the Selective Formation of 4-Methoxy-benzaldehyde …
2015
The oxidation of alcohols to carbonyl compounds in a clean fashion (i.e., with water as a solvent or under solvent-free conditions, and using O2 or H2O2 as the primary oxidant) is the subject of considerable research efforts. A new approach for the selective oxidation of soluble aromatic alcohols in water under mild conditions via a novel composite photocatalyst has been developed. The catalyst is synthesized by grafting 4-(4-(4- hydroxyphenylimino)cyclohexa-2,5dienylideneamino)phenol and silver nanoparticles onto the surface of moderately crystalline titanium dioxide. The titanium dioxide-based composite was first extensively characterized and then employed in the catalytic oxidation of 4-…
TiO2 based Inorganic-Organic Hybrid Photocatalysts for Highly Selective Alcohol Partial Oxidation
2015
An integrated approach to develop a composite hybrid material made of titanium dioxide functionalized with an organic conjugated phenol (DIOL) and silver NPs suitable for the selective oxidation of water soluble aromatic alcohols to aldehydes in water under UV irradiation and very mild conditions was used. The 86% selectivity observed for the Rutile/DIOL/Ag composite is, to the best of our knowledge, the highest thus far reported for partial oxidation of aromatic alcohols to aldehydes in water suspensions of titanium dioxide. The method is general as it relies on the concomitant easier adsorption of the aromatic alcohol and more facile release of the aldehyde, coupled to fast interfacial el…
Interaction of Gold with Co-Condensed and Grafted HMS-SH Silica: A 29Si {1H} CP-MAS NMR Spectroscopy, XRD, XPS and Au LIII EXAFS Study
2010
Hexagonal mesoporous silica (HMS) is functionalised with mercaptopropyl groups by adopting two different procedures ; co-condensation and grafting. In both cases tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS) and 3-mercaptopropyltriethoxysilane (3-MPTES) are used as the silicon and sulfur precursors, respectively. The obtained materials are analysed by several techniques such as N 2 sorption, TG-DTA, XRD, SAXS and-solid state 29 Si { 1 H} CP-MAS NMR spectroscopy. By taking advantage of the chemical interaction between gold and the -SH groups, the effect of the thiol addition procedure on the supporting capability of the functionalised silica is evaluated by depositing gold through the incipient wet impregn…
Cu2+-Induced formation of cage-like compounds containing pyrazole macrocycles
2002
The crystal structure of the complex [Cu4(H22L)2(H2O)2- (ClO4)2](ClO4)2·2H2O where L is a new pyrazole ligand containing 1,5-diaminopentane spacers represents a new form of obtaining metal ion-induced inorganic–organic cages.
