Acculturation Orientations among Russian Youth in Finland

Despite the fact that much academic attention has been directed to the acculturation of immigrants in Finland, the need to more fully understand how immigrants cope with acculturation is timely. Since the Russian-speaking immigrants represent the biggest immigrant group in Finland, this chapter explores the acculturation orientations among Russian immigrant youth approached from the angle of the festive culture. The findings are based on the data of ethnographic observation and qualitative interviews (n 16) conducted in the central part of Finland. Soliton solutions for an higher order nonlinear Schroedinger equation in optical fiber

The new improvements to increase the bit rate in optical fiber require the propagation of pulse whose temporal width is always lesser. This causes the presence of further terms, linear and nonlinear, in the evolution equation of the pulse. The analysis on the complete integrability of the evolution equation, in a fiber optics with local properties and achieved in a previous paper, is improved dealing with the normal dispersion case, which allows the dark soliton propagation. In the last section special efforts are made to propose some interesting soliton solutions both bright and dark.

International audience; The characteristics of advanced composite materials make them ideally suited for use in pressure vessels for storing gas as fuel for ground transport vehicles. It has been found that the failure process starts with randomly distributed fibre breaks and as the loading continues, they coalesce into clusters of fibre breaks which lead to failure [4]. However, improvements are needed to reduce computational times when performing full-scale simulations. Fixed point results for α-implicit contractions with application to integral equations

Recently, Aydi et al. [On fixed point results for α-implicit contractions in quasi-metric spaces and consequences, Nonlinear Anal. Model. Control, 21(1):40–56, 2016] proved some fixed point results involving α-implicit contractive conditions in quasi-b-metric spaces. In this paper we extend and improve these results and derive some new fixed point theorems for implicit contractions in ordered quasi-b-metric spaces. Moreover, some examples and an application to integral equations are given here to illustrate the usability of the obtained results.

Background. A pilot-training experience focused on the integration of migrants from African coasts in Sicily (South Italy). Las perturbaciones externas en la economía española tras la integración: ¿tamaño del shock o grado de respuesta?

El objetivo de este trabajo es analizar si ha aumentado la influencia de los shocks europeos en el ciclo económico español tras el proceso de integración en Europa. Se estudia si los cambios observados se deben a un cambio en la magnitud relativa de los shocks (estadounidenses, europeos e internos) y/o a cambios en el grado de respuesta. Los resultados muestran que los efectos de un shock europeo han aumentado: un shock del mismo tamaño afectaría hoy más a la economía española de lo que lo hacía en los setenta, mientras que un shock interno provocaría hoy una respuesta sustancialmente menor.
