Seeing Gravity: Gait Adaptations to Visual and Physical Inclines – A Virtual Reality Study

Using advanced virtual reality technology, we demonstrate that exposure to virtual inclinations visually simulating inclined walking induces gait modulations in a manner consistent with expected gravitational forces (i.e., acting upon a free body), suggesting vision-based perception of gravity. The force of gravity critically impacts the regulation of our movements. However, how humans perceive and incorporate gravity into locomotion is not well understood. This thesis sought to identify mergers and acquisitions advisors’ perceptions of their own negotiation strategies in a typical negotiation. Additionally, the thesis examined the potential association between the first offer and a negotiator’s perception of his or her own negotiation strategy. This was researched empirically by presenting the negotiators two different first offer negotiation scenarios. In the first scenario, a buyer presented a first offer that was higher than a negotiator’s reservation value. Dependence of effective properties upon regular perturbations

In this survey, we present some results on the behavior of effective properties in presence of perturbations of the geometric and physical parameters. We first consider the case of a Newtonian fluid flowing at low Reynolds numbers around a periodic array of cylinders. We show the results of [43], where it is proven that the average longitudinal flow depends real analytically upon perturbations of the periodicity structure and the cross section of the cylinders. Artikkelin kirjoittaja Tuija Rasinen työskentelee tällä hetkellä palvelukehityspäällikkönä Jyväskylän kaupungin innovaatiopalveluissa. Rasinen työskenteli aiemmin luokanopettajana CLIL-opetusta toteuttavassa perusopetuksen koulussa Jyväskylässä ja on tehnyt kasvatustieteenalan väitöskirjan vieraskielisestä perusopetuksesta. Tämä artikkeli käsittelee kyseisen koulun CLIL-opetuksen 20-vuotista kehityskaarta pienimuotoisesta opetuskokeilusta koko koulun toimintakulttuuriksi.
