Dipole soliton-vortices
2007
On universal symmetry grounds, we analyze the existence of a new type of discrete-symmetry vortex solitons that can be considered as coherent states of dipole solitons carrying a nonzero topological charge. Remarkably, they can be also interpreted as excited angular Bloch states. The stability of new soliton states is elucidated numerically.
Statistical description of soliton clustering in fiber lasers with slow-gain dynamics
2014
We demonstrate theoretically that the dynamic clustering of solitons observed in a variety of experiments are due to the initial phase and position of interacting solitons with the slow gain dynamics of the fiber laser.
Group interactions of dissipative solitons in a laser cavity: the case of 2+1.
2009
What can be the outcome of the interaction between a dissipative soliton pair and a soliton singlet? We report an experimental observation of ???elastic??? collisions as well as ???inelastic??? formation of triplet soliton states in a fiber laser setup. These observations are supported with the numerical simulations based on the dispersion (parameter) managed cubic-quintic Ginzburg-Landau equation model.
Dissipative solitons for mode-locked fiber lasers
2010
The concept of a dissipative optical soliton is applied to interpret various pulse dynamics either predicted numerically or observed experimentally in passively mode-locked fiber lasers. The recently discovered “dissipative soliton resonance” phenomenon and “soliton rain” dynamics are highlighted as prominent examples.
Collision-induced polarization scattering of dispersion managed solitons
2005
Using a multiscale expansion of coupled nonlinear Schrodinger equations we study the role of map strength and channel spacing for two colliding solitons. We numerically study then the depolarization caused by collisions of dispersion-managed vector solitons.
Analytical design of soliton molecules in fibers
2016
We present an analytical method for designing fiber systems for a highly stable propagation of soliton molecules. This analytical design uses the variational equations of the soliton molecule to determine the parameters of the most suitable fiber system for any desired soliton, thus reducing dramatically the cost of the whole procedure of design, for both the appropriate fiber system and the desired soliton molecule.

Darboux Linearization and Isochronous Centers with a Rational First Integral
1997
Abstract In this paper we study isochronous centers of polynomial systems. It is known that a center is isochronous if and only if it is linearizable. We introduce the notion of Darboux linearizability of a center and give an effective criterion for verifying Darboux linearizability. If a center is Darboux linearizable, the method produces a linearizing change of coordinates. Most of the known polynomial isochronous centers are Darboux linearizable. Moreover, using this criterion we find a new two-parameter family of cubic isochronous centers and give the linearizing changes of coordinates for centers belonging to that family. We also determine all Hamiltonian cubic systems which are Darbou…
