Do the Mega and Titan Tests Yield Accurate Results? An Investigation into Two Experimental Intelligence Tests

2020

The Mega and Titan Tests were designed by Ronald K. Hoeflin to make fine distinctions in the intellectual stratosphere. The Mega Test purported to measure above-average adult IQ up to and including scores with a rarity of one in a million of the general population. The Titan Test was billed as being even more difficult than the Mega Test. In this article, these claims are subjected to scrutiny. Both tests are renormed using the normal curve of distribution. It is found that the Mega Test has a higher ceiling and a lower floor than the Titan Test. While the Mega Test may thus seem preferable as a psychometric instrument, it is somewhat marred by a number of easy items in its verbal section. …

AMMINISTRAZIONE PUBBLICA E SISTEMI DI INTELLIGENZA ARTIFICIALE: ALCUNE RIFLESSIONI

2022

This paper aims to examine how public administrations tend to use artificial intelligence systems, in the light of the legal framework and jurisprudential developments. Taking the cue from a distinction between the cases in which the aforementioned systems support the administrative decision and those in which they tend to replace the ‘human decider’ it intends to point out the utility of a distinction between administration for measures and performance administration, for the purposes of allocating responsibilities for eventually produced damage

Intellectual Property Rights: An Economic Approach

2014

Abstract This paper aims to analyse the intellectual property rights from an economic perspective. The paper is discussing the points of view of well known economists in relation to the positive and negative impacts of the intellectual property systems. It brings also into discussion the role of IPR as a barrier to entry and a mean to restrict competition and to favour monopoly situations.

Valsts autoceļu kā publisku lietu pārvaldīšanas tiesiskie aspekti

2019

Darbs sastāv no trīs nodaļām.

Business intelligence in decision making in Finnish enterprises

2016

This exploratory study focuses on Finnish enterprises and examines how and why they are applying business intelligence today. Especially the process from data into knowledge and how business intelligence is utilized in decision making have been studied. We observed that BI tools improve the speed and quality of decision making and BI tools were coupled with actual decision making. BI tools are used frequently but those are only means to an end and in order to examine how they are used to attain specific outcomes. Most of the end users utilised the loosely-coupled approach, but half of the respondents also utilised BI with tighter coupling, structured human decisions, by using customised ana…

AI-based quantum-safe cybersecurity automation and orchestration for edge intelligence in future networks

2023

The AIQUSEC (AI-based quantum secure cyber security automation and orchestration in the edge intelligence of future networks) brings measurable advances to the cyber security of access and edge networks and their services, as well as Operational Service Technologies (OT). The research aims for significant cybersecurity scalability, efficiency, and effectiveness of operations through improved and enhanced device and sensor securities, security assurance, quantum security, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) based automation solutions. The new application scenarios of near future, the multiple stakeholders within each scenario, and the higher data volumes raise the need for novel cybersecurity s…

An Automatic Ontology-Based Approach to Support Logical Representation of Observable and Measurable Data for Healthy Lifestyle Management: Proof-of-C…

2020

Background Lifestyle diseases, because of adverse health behavior, are the foremost cause of death worldwide. An eCoach system may encourage individuals to lead a healthy lifestyle with early health risk prediction, personalized recommendation generation, and goal evaluation. Such an eCoach system needs to collect and transform distributed heterogenous health and wellness data into meaningful information to train an artificially intelligent health risk prediction model. However, it may produce a data compatibility dilemma. Our proposed eHealth ontology can increase interoperability between different heterogeneous networks, provide situation awareness, help in data integration, and discover…

Contributions of biomechanical modeling and machine learning to the automatic registration of Multiparametric Magnetic Resonance and Transrectal Echo…

2022
