The essay starts from the recent judgment of the Sezioni unite of the Court of Cassation on the inclusion of interests for non performance within the scope of the figure of usury so called in the abstract. The answer given by the Sezioni unite is positive and it must be fully …

Chemical Composition of Scots Pine Bark as a Bioindicator of Environmental Quality in Riga, Latvia / Priežu Mizu ķīmiskais Sastāvs Kā Vides Stāvokļa …

2015

Abstract The chemical composition of pine bark was used for the determination of environmental quality in Rīga. Bark samples were collected at 54 sites in Rīga differing in vegetation and building area characteristics (urban forests, parks and cemeteries, dwelling houses, and streets and railway zones) and at 52 sites from rural areas in Latvia (background level). Concentrations of Ca, Mg, Na, K, Fe, Mn, Zn, Ni, Cu, Cd, Pb, and pH was determined in the samples. The results showed significantly higher concentrations of chemical elements in pine bark collected in Rīga, compared to background levels: Fe and Cu concentrations three times higher, and other elements - up to 1.8 times. The highest…

Opposition without cause of minors to the visitation regime

2020

The aim of this paper is to analyze situations in which younger children refuse to associate with one of their parents with the non-living. Sometimes these are cases where there is no just cause to limit or eliminate the right of access of parents. We intend to analyse the solutions that have been applied by case law.

Trend of Foreign Tourist Visits in the Conservation Area of the Cenderawasih Bay National Park (TNTC) with Special Interest on Whale Shark (Rhincodon…

2021

Tourist areas have a significant role in several aspects including economic, social and environmental. The national park has a considerable potential in the aspect of tourism. In addition to having mega biodiversity, the Cenderawasih Bay National Park (TNTC) also has a strong special attraction in term of whale shark, available year-round. Therefore, foreign tourism potential at TNTC is very high and much in demand by both local and foreign tourists. By processing visitation data, we were able to obtain trend and potentials in supporting the carrying capacity of whale shark tourism areas. Through these data, the estimated number of visitors in 2020 at TNTC was also obtained. Data were perfo…

Comparison of Body Composition and Energy Intake of Young Female Ballet Dancers and Ordinary School Girls

2017

Abstract The aim of this study is to assess body fat level, energy and nutrient intake of adolescent ballet dancers and to compare these results with those of adolescents from ordinary school. Participants included 39 ballet dancers and 70 adolescents from ordinary school. Body composition was measured using a multi-frequency 8-polar bioelectrical impedance leg-to-hand analyser (X-Scan Plus II, Korea). Dietary intakes were assessed using a three-day estimated food record. Nutritional intake was calculated using the Nutri Survey software. Ballet dancers were slightly shorter, lighter, with less fat and fat-free mass compared to girls from ordinary school. 51.3% (95% CI 35.59 to 66.97) of bal…

A Reconsideration of the Role of Forward-Market Arbitrage in Keynes’s and Hicks’s Theories of the Term Structure of Interest Rates

2014

International audience; This paper develops the relationship between Hicks’s and Keynes’s writings on the theory of the term structure of interest rates, and shows in detail how Hicks built on and extended Keynes’s account. According to this theory, the level of the long-term interest rate is determined by expectations of future short-term rates. Keynes’s thinking contained several notions – such as the preferred habitat of lenders, the theory of forward markets, and risk-premiums – which Hicks used to give a more complete theory of the term structure of interest rates. Besides implementing these notions in his own theory, Hicks introduced the concepts of the preferred habitat of borrowers,…

Automatic multi-seed detection for MR breast image segmentation

2017

In this paper an automatic multi-seed detection method for magnetic resonance (MR) breast image segmentation is presented. The proposed method consists of three steps: (1) pre-processing step to locate three regions of interest (axillary and sternal regions); (2) processing step to detect maximum concavity points for each region of interest; (3) breast image segmentation step. Traditional manual segmentation methods require radiological expertise and they usually are very tiring and time-consuming. The approach is fast because the multi-seed detection is based on geometric properties of the ROI. When the maximum concavity points of the breast regions have been detected, region growing and m…

Automatic Detection of Infantile Hemangioma using Convolutional Neural Network Approach

2020

Infantile hemangioma is the most common tumor of childhood. This study proposes an automatic detection as a preliminary step for a further accurate monitoring tool to evaluate the clinical status of hemangioma. For the detection of hemangioma pixels, a convolutional neural network (CNN) was trained on patches of two classes (hemangioma and nonhemangioma) from the train dataset, and then it was used to classify all the pixels of the region of interest from the test dataset. In order to evaluate the results of segmentation obtained with CNN, the region of interest of the test dataset was also segmented using two classical methods of segmentation: fuzzy c-means clustering (FCM) and segmentatio…

OPPORTUNITIES OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF VALUES IN THE INTEREST-RELATED EDUCATION OF ADOLESCENTS

2018

Many schools and different educational institutions offer a wide range of out-of-class activities that promote the development of adolescents for a world in which people need to collaborate, to trust each other, to respect other people, different views and traditions. These activities deepen the knowledge acquired in the class in different school subjects, music, art, the use of modern technologies and in other fields. Interest-related education (out-of-class) activities support school teachers and parents in the process of the development of skills, abilities and personal traits, values for life. The task of any teacher in schools and out-of-school activities is to integrate the developmen…
