In this paper we revisit a taxonomy of client-side IoT software architectures that we presented a few years ago. We note that the emergence of inexpensive AI/ML hardware and new communication technologies are broadening the architectural options for IoT devices even further. These options can have a significant impact on the overall end-to-end architecture and topology of IoT systems, e.g., in determining how much computation can be performed on the edge of the network. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli selvittää ja jäsentää verkossa tehtävää sosiaalityötä verkkovuorovaikutuksen ja sosiaalisen tuen näkökulmista. Tutkimuksessa kysytään, millaista vuorovaikutus on verkossa ja miten sen avulla lapset ja nuoret voivat saada sosiaalista tukea. Tutkimus käsitteli A-klinikkasäätiön ylläpitämää Varjomaailma-nimistä verkkopalvelua, joka on suunnattu vanhempiensa juomisesta tai päihteiden käytöstä haittoja kokeville lapsille ja nuorille. Argument graph as a tool for promoting collaborative online reading

This study explored how the construction of an argument graph promotes students' collaborative online reading compared to note-taking. Upper secondary school students (n = 76) worked in pairs. The pairs were asked to search for and read source material on the Web for a joint essay and either construct an argument graph or take notes during online reading. The data consist of transcription protocols of student pairs' discussions and joint essays. The diverse forms of participation in social media raise many methodological and ethical issues that should be acknowledged in research. In this paper, participation in social media is studied by utilising the framework of explicit and implicit participation. The focus is on the communicative and communal aspects of social media. The aim of the paper is to promote the reconsideration of what constitutes participation when online users create connections rather than content. The underlying argument is that research on social media and the development of methods should concentrate more on implicit forms of participation.
