International audience; Purpose: To evaluate the time course of intraocular pressure (IOP) elevation, electroretinographic changes and retinal ganglion cell (RGC) loss in a rat model of glaucoma induced by photocoagulation of the trabeculum and the episcleral and limbal veins. Methods: Male Sprague Dawley rats were used at 6 weeks of age. At least 3 of the episcleral veins, the trabeculum and the limbal veins were photocoagulated with a laser at 532nm (Quantel Medical, Vitra) in one eye of the animals. Maģistra darbs uzrakstīts uz 43 lappusēm. Darbs satur 25 attēlus un atsauces uz 41 literatūras avotu. Darba mērķis bija novērtēt acs iekšējā spiediena saistību ar redzes nerva ekskavācijas eksentricitāti cilvēkiem, kuriem nav konstatēta glaukoma. Pētījumā tika veikts Itālijā un tika analizētas 100 cilvēku acis. Pētījuma dalībnieku vecums bija no 25 līdz 45 gadiem, no kuriem 41 bija sieviete un 59 vīrieši. Tika novērtēts acs iekšējais spiediens, ņemot vērā radzenes pahimetrijas datus un tika iegūtas ar fundus kameru redzes nervu fotogrāfijas. The objective of this study was to determine the normal range of tear production and values of intraocular pressure (IOP) in clinically normal eyes of whooper swans (Cygnus cygnus). A total of 86 birds: 81 cygnets (6-10 weeks old) and 5 moulting – adult swans (3-6 years old) were examined in this study. Both eyes of all birds underwent a complete ophthalmic examination, including evaluation of tear production with the phenol red thread test (PRTT) and the assessment of the IOP by rebound tonometry, employing the TonoVet® device. Purpose Intraocular pressure (IOP) fluctuation is considered as a risk factor for glaucoma progression. We investigated IOP values and IOP fluctuation before and after trabeculectomy (TE) with mitomycin C (MMC) measured by 48-hour diurnal-nocturnal-IOP-profiles (DNP). Methods Pre- and postoperative DNPs of 92 eyes undergoing primary TE with MMC were analysed. Each 48-hour IOP-profile involved 10 IOP measurements (8:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., 6:00 p.m., and 9:00 p.m. in sitting and at 00:00 in supine position). International audience; Purpose: To provide data on the lipid profile of the Tenon’s capsule in Human glaucomatous eyes and to establish possible relationships with the short term outcome of filtration surgery. Methods: Fragments of Tenon’s capsule were collected during glaucoma surgery in patients suffering from open angle glaucoma (10 trabeculectomies and 17 non penetrating deep sclerectomies). The lipid profile of the human samples was determined by gas chromatography.
