While intrinsic motivation has received broad attention in recent entertainment research, the effects of extrinsic motivation, such as social pressure to use media, on media enjoyment remain unknown. Based on an online-survey (N = 230), this study tested the effects of intrinsic need satisfaction and perceived social pressure on the enjoyment of Facebook use with structural equation modeling. Is the reproductive potential of wild house mice regulated by extrinsic or intrinsic factors?

The regulation of reproductive performance in small mammals may be determined by extrinsic or intrinsic parameters. In a large-scale, replicated field experiment we monitored the seasonal fluctuation in food availability and tested the effects of food addition on the reproductive performance of wild house mice (Mus domesticus) in south-eastern Australia. Ovulation rates and litter size increased during spring and peaked in October/November. Ovulation rate was consistently higher than litter size by approximately 1.2 embryos (19%). The main purpose of this longitudinal study was to investigate the role of motivational climates, perceived competence and motivational regulations as antecedents of self-reported physical activity during junior high school years. The participants included 237 Finnish students (101 girls, 136 boys) that were 13 years old at the first stage of the study. Abstract The Protein Ensemble Database (PED) (https://proteinensemble.org), which holds structural ensembles of intrinsically disordered proteins (IDPs), has been significantly updated and upgraded since its last release in 2016. Enantiomerically pure hexahydroquinolinones of the structural type 9 were prepared by a variation of the Hantzsch synthesis in which an optically active acetoacetate served as a chiral auxiliary reagent. Determinations of the de and ee values are described. The absolute configurations of the optically pure products were characterized by single-crystal X-ray analysis. This study examined the relationship among pupils' perceptions of the motivational climate, pupils' perceptions of teachers' strategies to maintain discipline and pupils' intrinsic motivation in physical education. A sample of 2189 Spanish adolescents, ages 13 to 17 years, completed Spanish versions of the EPCM, SSDS, and IMI. The right postganglionic sympathetic nerves of rat isolated perfused hearts (previously loaded with [3H]-noradrenaline) were stimulated electrically with 10 trains of 10 pulses at 10 Hz. The inhibition by methacholine of stimulation-evoked [3H]-noradrenaline overflow into the perfusate (determined in the presence of corticosterone, desipramine, phentolamine, and propranolol) was taken as a measure for activation of presynaptic muscarinic receptors. The evoked [3H]-noradrenaline overflow was inhibited by (+)-, racemic, and (-)-methacholine in a reversible and concentration-dependent manner.
