Measurement of directCPviolation parameters inB±→J/ψK±andB±→J/ψπ±decays with10.4  fb−1of Tevatron data

We present a measurement of the direct CP-violating charge asymmetry in B-+/- mesons decaying to J/psi K-+/- and J/psi pi(+/-) where J/psi decays to mu(+)mu(-), using the full run II data set of 10.4 fb(-1) of proton-antiproton collisions collected using the D0 detector at the Fermilab Tevatron Collider. A difference in the yield of B- and B+ mesons in these decays is found by fitting to the difference between their reconstructed invariant mass distributions resulting in asymmetries of A(J/psi K) = [0.59 +/- 0.37]%, which is the most precise measurement to date, and A(J/psi pi) = [-4.2 +/- 4.5]%. Both measurements are consistent with standard model predictions.

Measurement of theWW+WZProduction Cross Section Using thelepton+jetsFinal State at CDF II

We report two complementary measurements of the diboson (WW + WZ) cross section in the final state consisting of an electron or muon, missing transverse energy, and jets, performed using p{bar p} collision data at {radical}s = 1.96 TeV collected by the Collider Detector at Fermilab. The first method uses the dijet invariant mass distribution while the second method uses more of the kinematic information in the event through matrix-element calculations of the signal and background processes and has a higher sensitivity. Search for Quantum Black Hole Production in High-Invariant-MassLepton+JetFinal States UsingppCollisions ats=8  TeVand the ATLAS Detector

This Letter presents a search for quantum black-hole production using 20.3 fb(-1) of data collected with the ATLAS detector in pp collisions at the LHC at root s = 8 TeV. The quantum black holes are assumed to decay into a final state characterized by a lepton (electron or muon) and a jet. In either channel, no event with a lepton-jet invariant mass of 3.5 TeV or more is observed, consistent with the expected background. Limits are set on the product of cross sections and branching fractions for the lepton + jet final states of quantum black holes produced in a search region for invariant masses above 1 TeV. The role of N*(2120) nucleon resonance in KΛ(1520) photon and hadronic productions

The associate $K\Lambda(1520)$ photon and hadronic production in the $\gamma p \to K^+\Lambda(1520)$, $p p \to p K^+ \Lambda(1520)$ and $\pi^- p \to K^0 \Lambda(1520)$ reactions are investigated within the effective Lagrangian approach and the isobar model. We are interested in the contribution from the $N^*(2120)$ (previously called $N^*(2080)$) resonance, which has a significant coupling to the $K\Lambda(1520)$ channel. The theoretical results show that the current experimental data for the $\gamma p \to K^+\Lambda(1520)$ reaction favor the existence of the $N^*(2120)$ resonance, and that these measurements can be used to further constrain its properties. Triangle mechanisms in the build up and decay of the N*(1875)

We have studied the $N^*(1875) (3/2^-)$ resonance with a multichannel unitary scheme, considering the $\Delta \pi$ and $\Sigma^* K$, with their interaction extracted from chiral Lagrangians, and then have added two more channels, the $N^*(1535) \pi$ and $N \sigma$, which proceed via triangle diagrams involving the $\Sigma^* K$ and $\Delta \pi$ respectively in the intermediate states. The triangle diagram in the $N^*(1535) \pi$ case develops a singularity at the same energy as the resonance mass. We determine the couplings of the resonance to the different channels and the partial decay widths. NNLL momentum-space resummation for stop-pair production at the LHC

If supersymmetry near the TeV scale is realized in Nature, the pair production of scalar top squarks is expected to be observable at the Large Hadron Collider. Recently, effective field-theory methods were employed to obtain approximate predictions for the cross section for this process, which include soft-gluon emission effects up to next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) in perturbation theory. In this work we employ the same techniques to resum soft-gluon emission effects to all orders in perturbation theory and with next-to-next-to-logarithmic (NNLL) accuracy. Automated NNLL+NLO Resummation for Jet-Veto Cross Sections

In electroweak-boson production processes with a jet veto, higher-order corrections are enhanced by logarithms of the veto scale over the invariant mass of the boson system. In this paper, we resum these Sudakov logarithms at next-to-next-to-leading logarithmic (NNLL) accuracy and match our predictions to next-to-leading order (NLO) fixed-order results. We perform the calculation in an automated way, for arbitrary electroweak final states and in the presence of kinematic cuts on the leptons produced in the decays of the electroweak bosons. Tau decay into $$\nu _\tau $$ and $$a_1(1260)$$, $$b_1(1235)$$, and two $$K_1(1270)$$

AbstractWe study the $$\tau \rightarrow \nu _\tau A$$τ→ντA decay, with A an axial-vector meson. We produce the $$a_1(1260)$$a1(1260) and $$b_1(1235)$$b1(1235) resonances in the Cabibbo favored mode and two $$K_1(1270)$$K1(1270) states in the Cabibbo suppressed mode. We take advantage of previous chiral unitary approach results where these resonances appear dynamically from the vector and pseudoscalar meson interaction in s-wave. Actually two different poles were obtained associated to the $$K_1(1270)$$K1(1270) quantum numbers. We study the $\bar B^0_s \to J/\psi K^+ K^-$, $\bar B^0 \to J/\psi K^+ K^-$, $B^- \to J/\psi K^0 K^-$, $\bar B^0 \to J/\psi \pi^0 \eta$ and $B^- \to J/\psi \pi^- \eta$ decays and compare their mass distributions with those obtained for the $\bar B^0_s \to J/\psi \pi^+ \pi^-$ and $\bar B^0 \to J/\psi \pi^+ \pi^-$. The approach followed consist in a factorization of the weak part and the hadronization part into a factor which is common to all the processes. Then what makes the reactions different are some trivial Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix elements and the weight by which the different pairs of mesons appear in a primary step plus their final state interaction. Predictions for the ${\vec{\Lambda }_b \rightarrow J/\psi ~ \Lambda (1405)}$ Λ b → J / ψ Λ ( 1405 ) decay

We calculate the shape of the [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] invariant mass distributions in the [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] decays that are dominated by the [Formula: see text] resonance. The weak interaction part is the same for both processes and the hadronization into the different meson-baryon channels in the final state is given by symmetry arguments. The most important feature is the implementation of the meson-baryon final-state interaction using two chiral unitary models from different theoretical groups.
