Introduction Surgical management of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis in spite of usually favourable outcomes is still a major operation. Therefore, efforts are being undertaken to minimalize the procedure, reduce the surgical trauma and postoperative convalescence. Introduction. The induction of pneumoperitoneum is the first and most critical phase of laparoscopy, due to the significant risk of serious vascular and visceral complications. The closed technique for the creation of pneumoperitoneum could lead to several surgical complications. The goal of this trial was to review all results of treating Sanders Type IV calcaneus fractures by primary arthrodesis with VIRA system with evolution time higher than one year. Materials and Methods: We ran an observational descriptive retrospective trial on a pool of 13 patients hospitalized in our center with diagnosis of acute fracture of intra-articular calcaneus  Sanders Type IV (total number of fractures 15), two bilateral cases,  from January 2009 to December 2013, treated with surgery by subtalar arthrodesis with VIRA System. Abstract Background Management of ovarian cysts in infants is controversial; it can be conservative or surgical, and the management is determined by the cyst's size and sonographic features. Methods A surgical approach using a 10-mm umbilically placed operative laparoscope was taken in 3 female infants with antenatally diagnosed large, simple ovarian cysts. The contents of the cysts were partially aspirated and the cyst walls were stripped off the remaining ovarian parenchyma. No intraoperative or postoperative complications were recorded.
