THE STRUCTURE OF SOIL CADASTRE. A MODEL OF SOIL INVENTORY FOR ENVIRONMENTAL, SOCIAL, ECONOMIC AND TAXATION PURPOSES IN A GLOBALISED MARKET
2018
The author shows the development of a structure, derived from the processing and integration of Ground Cadastre, where all soil characteristics are described. The soil is considered as divided according to the updated concept of cadastral parcel (soil and topographic uniformity of ownership and municipality). The land use is also assessed with reference to sustainability, taxation and environmental risk prevention. The structure of Soil Cadastre can contribute to the bureaucratic simplification of agricultural policies and environmental emergencies, as well as product presentation and traceability. Through the updating of some characteristics by professionals, the cadastre can become eviden…
ANALYSIS OF A WAREHOUSE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM BY MEANS OF SIMULATION EXPERIMENTS
2011
The supply chains for perishable products are nowadays affected by significant wastes and losses. Their management hence requires optimized approaches in order to remove such inefficiencies. In particular optimized warehouse management policies is a well established research topic which has been recently enriched with specific formulations for deteriorating stocks and shelf life based picking rules. In such context the proposed research aims at investigating the optimal warehouse management policy, taking into account the effects of uncertainty by means of simulation and approaching the effect of optimal picking rules. In the proposed approach, on the basis of a Weibull deterioration proces…
Simultaneous optimization of harvest schedule and measurement strategy
2013
In many recent studies, the value of forest inventory information in the harvest scheduling has been examined. Usually only the profitability of measuring simultaneously all the stands in the area is examined. Yet, it may be more profitable to concentrate the measurement efforts to some subset of them. In this paper, the authors demonstrate that stochastic optimization can be used for defining the optimal measurement strategy simultaneously with the harvest decisions. The results show that without end-inventory constraints, it was most profitable to measure the stands that were just below the medium age. Measuring the oldest stands was not profitable at all. It turned out to be profitable t…
Daudzdimensionālas personības aptaujas izstrāde un validizācija Latvijas pieaugušo izlasē
2014
Promocijas darba: Daudzdimensionālas personības aptaujas izstrāde un validizācija Latvijas pieaugušo izlasē Anotācija Promocijas darba ietvaros triju empīrisko pētījumu rezultātā tika izstrādāts daudzdimensionāls personības mērījuma instruments - Latvijas Personības aptauja (LPA-v3). Ar tās palīdzību var novērtēt sešus plašus personības faktorus: neirotismu, ekstraversiju, apzinīgumu, labvēlīgumu, atvērtību pieredzei un godīgumu-pieticību un četras personības iezīmes katrā faktora ietvaros. LPA-v3 uzrāda augstu iekšējas saskaņotības un retesta ticamību personības faktoru līmenī un apmierinošu līdz labu ticamību – apakšskalu līmenī. Ir apstiprināta LPA-v3 validitāte, ieskaitot faktoriālo val…
Relations between representational consistency, conceptual understanding of the force concept, and scientific reasoning
2012
Previous physics education research has raised the question of “hidden variables” behind students’ success in learning certain concepts. In the context of the force concept, it has been suggested that students’ reasoning ability is one such variable. Strong positive correlations between students’ preinstruction scores for reasoning ability (measured by Lawson’s Classroom Test of Scientific Reasoning) and their learning of forces [measured by the Force Concept Inventory (FCI)] have been reported in high school and university introductory courses. However, there is no published research concerning the relation between students’ ability to interpret multiple representations consistently (i.e.,…
