“The Chinese Will Not Change; We Have To Change” : Adjustment of the Finns to the Chinese in a Chinese Investment Facilitation Context

This paper explores the intercultural communication, cultural adjustment strategies and power relations between Finnish and Chinese representatives in the context of Chinese investment facilitation in Finland. The study is mostly based on interviews of individuals who work either for one of Finland’s state agencies tasked with attracting investment or local government. When analyzing aspects of power, the paper’s theoretical basis is the Positioning Theory of Harré (1991). Due to the phenomenon of ‘rising China’, the dominant discursive practice of the Finnish positioning is adaption to a communication and working style seen as typically Chinese. Opracowanie przedstawia kierunki modernizacji sieci kolejowej Polski w latach 2003-2017. Długość sieci kolejowej w kraju ulega zmniejszeniu. Zachodzi proces likwidacji linii i zawieszenia przewozów kolejowych. W kraju modernizowane są główne linie magistralne. Na modernizację składają się: wymiana torów, przebudowa trakcji elektrycznej i wprowadzenie nowoczesnych systemów sterowania ruchem i sygnalizacji (ECTS). Przebudowie ulęgają linie kolejowe o znaczeniu tranzytowym zaliczane do europejskiego układu połączeń kolejowych w ruchu pasażerskim (umowa AGC) i towarowym (umowa AGTC). Il vademecum illustra le principali tipologie di investimento finanziario, con un approfondimento sugli strumenti più rischiosi come gli strumenti derivati e gli investimenti in valuta estera. Nel vademecum vengono delineati i profili essenziali della tutela del risparmio nell'ordinamento italiano, nonchè il diritto all’informazione da parte dei risparmiatori-consumatori e dei connessi obblighi informativi da parte delle banche e degli altri operatori finanziari.

Corporate income tax rate in Latvia is one of the lowest in the European Union and is favourable for business. However, the government additionally uses numerous CIT reliefs to stimulate investments, to promote specific industries and investors. Among these, the measuring experiences related to GDPR and information security (Isec), and the future expectations are examined. This paper explores the challenge of finding common ground between the Finns and the Chinese in the context of co-operation, trade and inward investment facilitation related to general lack of specific interest displayed by the Chinese.
