One of the first important acts of Charles Jean XIV as head of Sweden was to renounce the idea of reconquering Finland. It was a difficult position to take, considering the conditions of the time, and in all likelihood, he swung back and forth for several months before taking a definitive decision, contrary to what he might have asserted later. Moreover, the regent, then sovereign, of Sweden, was forced to justify his choice throughout his reign and to navigate between the dangerous reefs of a diverse opposition , which was organised to varying degrees.Thus, the Finnish policy was, for another thirty years, a thorn in the side of the royal power at Stockholm.

Tami Notsani ha trentacinque anni. Sembrano pochi se si guarda alla sua biografia e alla sua attività professionale di fotografa; sembrano troppi se invece si guarda al suo aspetto, forte ma in alcune espressioni adolescenziale, non modificato completamente da una maternità. Tami nasce ad Haifa in Israele, ma cresce a Yuvalim, un piccolo paese della regione della Galilea, dove e brei e musulmani riescono a convivere pacificamente. Nasce in una fetta di terraferma: ma, dopo averlo messo su carta, l'aggettivo fermo non mi sembra più così appropriato.

Continuano a mietere successi i due architetti siciliani Giovanni Lucentini e Marcello Calà, dei quali ci siamo occupati su queste stesse pagine la scorsa primavera a proposito del progetto già in fase di cantiere per il parco della memoria di Pizzolungo. The aim of this chapter is to show how belonging to the Jewish Community as well as to the Italian left contributed to create the identity of certain Italian Jews. Through three life stories an attempt will be made to demonstrate that this link with the left-wing movement, which was very strong in the 1960s and 1970s, started to disappear in the early 1980s. At this time, due to the debate on the Lebanese war, Israel became the main component of their identity. Of course, this process had different characteristics which depended on different experiences.
