The European Water Framework Directive provides a framework for improving the ecological quality of stream ecosystems, with deviation from reference used as a measure of ecological status. 2. Here we examine the possibility of using less impacted stream sites from Latvia, Lithuania and Poland to establish a Danish reference network for macrophyte assemblages, and as a guiding image for identification of possible references sites within Denmark. En este artículo se realiza una discusión sobre el papel de la sociología, junto a otras ciencias sociales, para analizar algunos aspectos sociales de la crisis provocada por la pandemia del COVID-19. Para ello se acude a condicionantes sociales provenientes de la estructura social, la cultura, el poder y la autoridad de los científicos y la construcción de instituciones relacionadas con la salud y la I+D. Los efectos de la pande- mia se abordan teniendo en cuenta las consecuencias previstas y no previstas del confinamiento. En las conclusiones se incluyen reflexiones sobre el impacto de la crisis en las ciencias sociales.

The MAP is considered like an emergency contraception that the woman can take within the 72 hours from the sexual intercourse. ABSTRACT Purpose The aim of this study is to explore how material things might become involved in the recovery process of people with mental health difficulties. Method Empirical material from three different studies on various aspects concerning mental health issues that each of the authors had conducted was reanalysed through a phenomenological item analysis. Results We discovered that mundane objects such as a mobile phone, a bench, a door and a key have agency to contribute to peoples’ recovery and wellbeing. Power of Paradox: Grassroots Organizations’ Legitimacy Strategies Over Time

Fringe stakeholders with limited resources, such as grassroots organizations (GROs), are often ignored in business and society literature. We develop a conceptual framework and a set of propositions detailing how GROs strategically gain legitimacy and influence over time. We argue that GROs encounter specific paradoxes over the emergence, development, and resolution of an issue, and they address these paradoxes using cognitive, moral, and pragmatic legitimacy strategies. New protein clustering of breast cancer tissue proteomics using actin content as a cellularity indicator

In the present study, we report the comparative proteome profiles of proteins solubilized from 37 breast cancer surgical tissues, normalized for the actin content. Blood-derived proteins were excluded from the analysis. Among the tumor-derived protein spots, a large proportion (39%) was found present in all patients. These included several glycolytic enzymes, detox and heat shock proteins, members of annexin and S100 protein families, cathepsin D, and two “rare” proteins, DDAH2 involved in the angiogenesis control, and the oncogene PARK7. Femoral glands secrete a wax-like substance on the inner side of lizard hind legs, which is thought to function as a mode of chemical communication. Though the minor volatile fraction is well studied, the major protein fraction remains enigmatic. Here, we use proteomics to analyze proteins in femoral gland secretions of the Galápagos marine iguana.
