Remnants of Anderson localization in prethermalization induced by white noise

We study the non-equilibrium evolution of a one-dimensional quantum Ising chain with spatially disordered, time-dependent, transverse fields characterised by white noise correlation dynamics. We establish pre-thermalization in this model, showing that the quench dynamics of the on-site transverse magnetisation first approaches a metastable state unaffected by noise fluctuations, and then relaxes exponentially fast towards an infinite temperature state as a result of the noise. We also consider energy transport in the model, starting from an inhomogeneous state with two domain walls which separate regions characterised by spins with opposite transverse magnetization. Reinforcement learning approach to nonequilibrium quantum thermodynamics

We use a reinforcement learning approach to reduce entropy production in a closed quantum system brought out of equilibrium. Our strategy makes use of an external control Hamiltonian and a policy gradient technique. Our approach bears no dependence on the quantitative tool chosen to characterize the degree of thermodynamic irreversibility induced by the dynamical process being considered, require little knowledge of the dynamics itself and does not need the tracking of the quantum state of the system during the evolution, thus embodying an experimentally non-demanding approach to the control of non-equilibrium quantum thermodynamics. Entanglement entropy in a periodically driven quantum Ising chain

We numerically study the dynamics of entanglement entropy, induced by an oscillating time periodic driving of the transverse field, h(t), of a one-dimensional quantum Ising chain. We consider several realizations of h(t), and we find a number of results in analogy with entanglement entropy dynamics induced by a sudden quantum quench. After short-time relaxation, the dynamics of entanglement entropy synchronises with h(t), displaying an oscillatory behaviour at the frequency of the driving. La detección de partículas de residuos de disparo (RDD) en las ropas de un sospechoso es una evidencia muy importante en los casos judiciales para determinar si la persona disparó o no un arma de fuego. Sin embargo, debido a simples roces con otras superficies, las partículas asociadas al disparo se pierden por la actividad física de una persona. Hard cap espresso extraction and liquid chromatography determination of bioactive compounds in vegetables and spices

Abstract A new analytical procedure, based on liquid chromatography with diode array and fluorescence detection, has been proposed for the determination of bioactive compounds in vegetables and spices after hard cap espresso extraction. This novel extraction system has been tested for the determination of capsaicin and dihydrocapsaicin from fresh chilli and sweet pepper, piperine from ground pepper, curcumin from turmeric and curry, and myristicin from nutmeg. Extraction efficiency was evaluated by using acetonitrile:water and ethanol:water mixtures. The proposed method allows the extraction of samples with 100 mL of 60% (v/v) ethanol in water. Abstract In the present article we study global existence for a nonlinear parabolic equation having a reaction term and a Radon measure datum: where 1 < p < N, Ω is a bounded open subset of ℝN (N ≥ 2), Δpu = div(|∇u|p−2∇u) is the so called p-Laplacian operator, sign s ., ϕ(ν0) ∈ L1(Ω), μ is a finite Radon measure and f ∈ L∞(Ω×(0, T)) for every T > 0. Then we apply this existence result to show wild nonuniqueness for a connected nonlinear parabolic problem having a gradient term with natural growth.
