This introductory article serves two purposes. Firstly, it provides the background for the set of 11 articles that appear in the special issue of this journal and summarizes the articles along a number of dimensions. All the articles address aspects of multilingualism as subjectively experienced and they all make use of visual methodologies. Secondly, it subjects the articles to two meta-analyses. The first one compares and contrasts the studies by site: production, image and audiencing. Kielitietoiset käytänteet tukemassa maahanmuuttotaustaisten opiskelijoiden kiinnittymistä ammatilliseen koulutukseen

Tässä artikkelissa tarkastellaan pedagogisia käytänteitä, jotka tukevat kiinnittymistä sekä kielen ja sisältöjen rinnakkaista oppimista ammatillisessa koulutuksessa. Tiimietnografinen haastattelu- ja havainnointiaineisto kerättiin ammatillisessa oppilaitoksessa kahtena lukuvuonna. Osallistujat ovat myöhään suomalaiselle koulupolulle tulleita maahanmuuttotaustaisia nuoria aikuisia. Näiden seitsemän opiskelijan lisäksi haastateltiin neljäätoista opetus- ja ohjaushenkilökunnan jäsentä. Voimauttavaa valokuvausta ja äitien tarinaa : toimintatutkimus A-klinikalla asioivien äitien ryhmätoiminnasta

Tässä pro gradu -tutkielmassa tarkastellaan voimauttavan valokuvauksen menetelmää käyttämällä A-kli-nikalla asioivien äitien tarinoita heidän lapsuudestaan, elämästään sekä unelmistaan naisena ja äitinä. Lisäksi tutkimuksessa tarkastellaan sitä, miten äidit kokevat voimaantuvansa tämän valokuvausmenetelmän avulla. Tutkimus jakautuu teoreettiseen ja empiiriseen osaan. Teoriaosuudessa tarkastelen Paulo Freiren teoriaa sekä voimaantumisteoriaa. Dynamics in Interaction in Bilingual Team Teaching: Examples from a Finnish Preschool Classroom

The current study aims to explore team teaching as it is manifested in bilingual interactional patterns in a preschool classroom in Finland. The data was collected in a preschool classroom where a bilingual pedagogy in Finnish (majority language) and Swedish (minority language) was implemented with monolingual Finnishspeaking children. Video recordings were made while two teachers with different predefined language roles were team teaching a class of 20 children during two circle times. Users' interactions in social media can co-create and co-destruct the value and has a substantial impact on services.
