Questo lavoro propone l’analisi e un tentativo di definizione, non esaustiva, di uno dei piatti più diffusi, e al tempo stesso più difficili da collocare nella gastronomia siciliana, la “minestra”. La pietanza rappresenta, sia da un punto di vista semiotico e lessicale, sia da un punto di vista storico, una specificità delle cucine italiane che non sembra avere analoghi, se non in sistemi alimentari culturalmente limitrofi come quello provenzale. La parola minestra indica, al tempo stesso, una singola pietanza e una famiglia di preparazioni diverse, i cui elementi di affinità non sono sempre chiari. Objectives: The present study is addressed to validate the Italian version of the Sensation Seeking Scale Form V (SSS-V; Zuckerman, Eysenck & Eysenck, 1978), the most popular and widely used instrument to assess individuals’ tendency to differ with respect to their optimal levels of stimulation and arousal. Methods: After forward- and back-translation, psychometric properties were estimated from 1530 adolescents and young students (38.8% males; 61.5% females), who were asked to give their preference using a dichotomous forced choice answer format. A Layered Architecture for Sentiment Classification of Products Reviews in Italian Language

The paper illustrates a system for the automatic classification of the sentiment orientation expressed into reviews written in Italian language. A proper stratification of linguistic resources is adopted in order to solve the lacking of an opinion lexicon specifically suited for the Italian language. Experiments show that the proposed system can be applied to a wide range of domains.

The identification of the breed of origin of cattle derived products has recently assumed particular relevance since the increasing interest in marketing mono-breed labelled cheese and beef. These products are usually sold at a higher price creating financial incentives to substituting them with lower value products coming from undifferentiated or common breeds or crossbred animals.
