L'isola ai confini della terra promessa
2002
2005
Italian musicologists have hitherto shown scant interest in the music historiography of the nineteenth century. And to date, there has been no global vision of the ways of which history was written during the period in which scientific musicology was born (the late nineteenth century and early twentieth). Also with a view to engaging on a “history of the histories of music” some time in the future, the paper examines the following issues: 1) the passage from history interpreted philosophically to history written by professional historians; 2) the foundation of the categories of “monument” and “document” and the relative processes of historicization (German: Historisierung) in the field of m…

2019
André Guillou began publishing the Greek documents of Southern Italy shortly before the appearance of the third volume of the Archives de l’Athos (Actes de Xéropotamou, 1964). The first volume, published in 1963, was followed by six other in the series Corpus des actes grecs d’Italie du Sud et de Sicile (1974–2009). Additional publications have appeared since then. Thanks to this editorial work we may now attempt a comparison of the Italian documentary body with the already well-known Athonite material, which may permit a better understanding of the regional particularities of the documents. More than a thousand documents written in Southern Italy survive from the Byzantine and Angevin peri…

Ancora sulle "esplosive palatali" nelle inchieste dell'Atlante Linguistico del Mediterraneo (ALM): i punti albanesi
2021

In facebook we trust? Social media and political engagement, between Italian and Tunisian youth
2020
The article shows the results of a qualitative research on the use of social media by Tunisian and Italian youth, which is part of a broader project on Mediterranean digital culture. More precisely, this work is based on a series of focus groups, and aims at analyzing political participation, engagement and citizen journalism, by focusing on two countries deeply affected by digital propaganda – in Italy, with the growing popularity of Five Star Movement among young people, and in Tunisia with all aftermaths of the Arab Spring. Twelve focus groups were realized, with a total of 96 interviewed. As a result, we will consider two main findings: a critical use of social media, on the one hand, a…
