Jezus Chrystus jest niewątpliwie postacią historyczną. Jednak o samym Jego narodzeniu wiemy niewiele. Opis tego wydarzenia i to w bardzo oszczędnej formie podają bowiem jedynie dwie Ewangelie. Podstaw wielu tradycji i legend związanych z Bożym Narodzeniem należy zatem szukać przede wszystkim w ewangeliach apokryficznych oraz wizjach i objawieniach mistykowi świętych. Niniejszy tekst jest zatem jedynie próbą ludzkiego spojrzenia na te najbardziej niezwykłe narodziny w dziejach.

Pope Francis in the bull Misericordiae vultus encouraged to reflect on the meaning of God’s mercy in human history and the practice of Christian charity in life. According to the papal encouragement this article reflects on the content of the notion of God’s mercy. It focuses on these aspects which proved to be essential in the papal bull. The analyses performed are made from a theological perspective; they are therefore an attempt of interpretation, justification, and systematization of the content of the papal statements about mercy. The fonds of National Library of Russia include a Register of Brotherhood of Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary in Polotsk. Besides the list of members, the manuscript includes a number of documents important for operation of the congregation. The Brotherhood operated in 1794-1818; it was run by Jesuits, who survived disbanding of the order in 1773. Membership list of the Brotherhood (approx. 11 thousand) shows a crosssection of Polish community, living mostly in territories captured by Russia after First Partition of Poland. Teksty te są syntezą chrystologii oraz elementów teologii chrześcijańskiej istotną z punktu widzenia misji w Chinach. In this article a question is raised if it is possible for Christians to recognize Muhammad as an authentic prophet. From the point of view of religious studies Muhammad is obviously a prophet and Islam is a prophetic religion. Still, in the light of Christian theology that in Jesus Christ, the incarnate Son of God, sees the fulfiment of the Old Testament prophecies, recognizing Muhammad as a prophet is highly problematic. Granting Muhammad the prophet status would mean the recognition of the Koran as the authentic Word of God. The action of pericope that describes the anointing of Jesus (Matt. 26:6–13) took place in Bethany, in Judea. These areas were then part of the Great Roman Empire. Christ foretold that the woman who poured out the precious oil on His head in the house of Simon the Leper would know the whole world. That is what exactly happened. Many Christians do not know much about history of the Roman Empire, but probably everyone has heard of a nameless woman who anointed Jesus shortly before His passion and death.
