Se estudian los objetos líticos, domésticos y/o ceremoniales, de un yacimiento prehispánico ecuatoriano, Atacames. Comenzó a ser desarticulado por los españoles que se dirigían hacia la conquista del Perú (en el verano de 1527 los nativos fueron atacados). De aquella población han llegado a este tiempo numerosos vestigios, excavados y estudiados por los miembros de la Misión Arqueológica en Ecuador. (A)

Spectral index-flux relation for investigating the origins of steep decay in γ-ray bursts

$\gamma$-ray bursts (GRBs) are short-lived transients releasing a large amount of energy ($10^{51}-10^{53} $ erg) in the keV-MeV energy range. GRBs are thought to originate from internal dissipation of the energy carried by ultra-relativistic jets launched by the remnant of a massive star's death or a compact binary coalescence. While thousands of GRBs have been observed over the last thirty years, we still have an incomplete understanding of where and how the radiation is generated in the jet. Here we show a relation between the spectral index and the flux found by investigating the X-ray tails of bright GRB pulses via time-resolved spectral analysis. The long outburst of the black hole transient GRS 1716-249 observed in the X-ray and radio band

We present the spectral and timing analysis of X-ray observations performed on the Galactic black hole transient GRS 1716-249 during the 2016-2017 outburst. The source was almost continuously observed with the Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory from December 2016 until October 2017. The X-ray hardness ratio and timing evolution indicate that the source approached the soft state three times during the outburst, even though it never reached the canonical soft spectral state. Thus, GRS 1716-249 increases the number of black hole transients showing outbursts with "failed" state transition. Measurement of photon?jet transverse momentum correlations in 5.02 TeV Pb + Pb and pp collisions with ATLAS

Jets created in association with a photon can be used as a calibrated probe to study energy loss in the medium created in nuclear collisions. Measurements of the transverse momentum balance between isolated photons and inclusive jets are presented using integrated luminosities of 0.49 nb−1 of Pb + Pb collision data at TeV and 25 pb−1 of pp collision data at TeV recorded with the ATLAS detector at the LHC. Photons with transverse momentum GeV and are paired with all jets in the event that have GeV and pseudorapidity .
