OPERADS AND JET MODULES

2005

Let $A$ be an algebra over an operad in a cocomplete closed symmetric monoidal category. We study the category of $A$-modules. We define certain symmetric product functors of such modules generalising the tensor product of modules over commutative algebras, which we use to define the notion of a jet module. This in turn generalises the notion of a jet module over a module over a classical commutative algebra. We are able to define Atiyah classes (i.e. obstructions to the existence of connections) in this generalised context. We use certain model structures on the category of $A$-modules to study the properties of these Atiyah classes. The purpose of the paper is not to present any really de…

Specialization of cycles and the K-theory elevator

2017

A general specialization map is constructed for higher Chow groups and used to prove a "going-up" theorem for algebraic cycles and their regulators. The results are applied to study the degeneration of the modified diagonal cycle of Gross and Schoen, and of the coordinate symbol on a genus-2 curve.

Obstruction theory in action accessible categories

2013

Abstract We show that, in semi-abelian action accessible categories (such as the categories of groups, Lie algebras, rings, associative algebras and Poisson algebras), the obstruction to the existence of extensions is classified by the second cohomology group in the sense of Bourn. Moreover, we describe explicitly the obstruction to the existence of extensions in the case of Leibniz algebras, comparing Bourn cohomology with Loday–Pirashvili cohomology of Leibniz algebras.

The Abel–Jacobi map for higher Chow groups

2006

We construct a map between Bloch's higher Chow groups and Deligne homology for smooth, complex quasiprojective varieties on the level of complexes. For complex projective varieties this results in a formula which generalizes at the same time the classical Griffiths Abel–Jacobi map and the Borel/Beilinson/Goncharov regulator type maps.

Pseudodifferential Analysis on Manifolds with Boundary — a Comparison of b-Calculus and Cone Algebra

2001

We establish a relation between two different approaches to a complete pseudodifferential analysis of totally characteristic or Fuchs type operators on compact manifolds with boundary respectively conical singularities: Melrose’s (overblown) b-calculus and Schulze’s cone algebra. Though quite different in their definition, we show that these two pseudodifferential calculi basically contain the same operators.

The module structure of Hochschild homology in some examples

2008

Abstract In this Note we give a simple proof of a conjecture by A. Caldararu stating the compatibility between the modified Hochschild–Kostant–Rosenberg isomorphism and the action of Hochschild cohomology on Hochschild homology in the case of Calabi–Yau manifolds and smooth projective curves. Kontsevich formality and cohomologies for graphs

2004

A formality on a manifold M is a quasi isomorphism between the space of polyvector fields (Tpoly(M)) and the space of multidifferential operators (Dpoly(M)). In the case M=R d , such a mapping was explicitly built by Kontsevich, using graphs drawn in configuration spaces. Looking for such a construction step by step, we have to consider several cohomologies (Hochschild, Chevalley, and Harrison and Chevalley) for mappings defined on Tpoly. Restricting ourselves to the case of mappings defined with graphs, we determine the corresponding coboundary operators directly on the spaces of graphs. The last cohomology vanishes.

Simple connections between generalized hypergeometric series and dilogarithms

1997

AbstractConnections between generalized hypergeometric series and dilogarithms are investigated. Some simple relations of an Appell's function and dilogarithms are found.

Anomalies from the phenomenological and geometrical points of view

2008

Chiral anomalies are reviewed according to three different points of view: the usual approach together with some phenomenological implications, the algebraic approach, and, in the end and more detailed, the geometric approach. In particular, the topological approach of the Atiyah-Singer is extended in a way which allows the treatment of all chiral anomalies within the geometric (equivariant) point of view.

Commuting powers and exterior degree of finite groups

2011

In [P. Niroomand, R. Rezaei, On the exterior degree of finite groups, Comm. Algebra 39 (2011), 335-343] it is introduced a group invariant, related to the number of elements $x$ and $y$ of a finite group $G$, such that $x \wedge y = 1_{G \wedge G}$ in the exterior square $G \wedge G$ of $G$. This number gives restrictions on the Schur multiplier of $G$ and, consequently, large classes of groups can be described. In the present paper we generalize the previous investigations on the topic, focusing on the number of elements of the form $h^m \wedge k$ of $H \wedge K$ such that $h^m \wedge k = 1_{H \wedge K}$, where $m \ge 1$ and $H$ and $K$ are arbitrary subgroups of $G$.
