This dissertation examines the impact that the materiality of institutions has on patients and staff. Fieldwork has been carried out at five district psychiatric centres (Distriktspsykiatriske sentra, DPS) that were originally built as tuberculosis institutions. The patients’ and employees’ experiences of being present in the physical and social space of these institutions has been examined, interpreted and reflected upon. The paper provides knowledge about the significance institutions’ materiality and inner life has on the informants, and how the informants influence the materiality. Käsittelen maisterintutkielmassani seksuaalisen väkivallan ruumiillista kokemusta, häpeää ja tapahtuneesta kertomista Katja Ketun romaanissa Kätilö (2011). Tarkastelen sitä, miten seksuaalisen väkivallan ruumiillinen kokemus kuvataan Kätilössä, ja millainen on seksuaaliseen väkivaltaan liittyvä häpeän dynamiikka. Ruumiillisuuden performatiivisen viitekehyksen kautta pyrin sellaiseen luentaan, jossa kokemuksen materiaalinen luonne tulee näkyviin. Tutkimukseni liittyy feministiseen kirjallisuudentutkimukseen, ja sen tieteidenvälisyys näkyy lähteissä, jotka kuuluvat esimerkiksi yhteiskuntatieteisiin ja sukupuolentutkimukseen. This paper studies spatial aspects in local labour markets in Finland from the perspective of a matching approach. The monthly data comprise 173 Local Labour Office are as over a 12-year period between January 1991 and August 2002. The basic matching function is extended to account for spatial spill-overs between the local labour markets. The role of population density in the matching process is also examined. According to results, the Finnish local labour markets suffer from a strong congestion effect among job seekers, and spatial spill-overs even strengthen the congestion. Attraktioelokuva on Tom Gunningin ja André Gaudreaultin kehittämä fraasi kuvaamaan hämmästyksen estetiikkaa, joka oli vallalla varhaisessa elokuvassa ennen narrativisaatiota. Simple Summary Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the second most commonly diagnosed cancer and the leading cause of cancer-related death worldwide. Clinical decision-making depends on the histological classification; however, tissue biopsy is frequently not technically feasible due to tumor location or limited tissue samples. Therefore, we propose to find clinical, molecular and histological biomarkers using a minimally invasive approach based on the analysis of the cargo of the blood extracellular vesicles. Theobjective of this paper is to give a non-parametric estimatorof this error by using discrete observations. As the time ofprocess is continuous and the observations are discrete, weencountered the aliasing phenomenon. Our process sampleis taken in a way to circumvent the difficulty related toaliasing and we smoothed the periodogram by using JacksonKernel.
