The visual mismatch negativity (vMMN) response is an event-related potential (ERP) component, which is automatically elicited by events that violate predictions based on prior events. VMMN experiments use visual stimulus repetition to induce predictions, and vMMN is obtained by subtracting the response to rare unpredicted stimuli from those to frequent stimuli. One increasingly popular interpretation of the mismatch response postulates that vMMN, similar to its auditory counterpart (aMMN), represents a prediction error response generated by cortical mechanisms forming probabilistic representations of sensory signals. Abstract Background Body mass index (BMI) may not be an optimal predictor of frailty as its constituents, lean and fat mass, may have opposite associations with frailty. Methods A linear mixed model analysis was performed in the Helsinki Birth Cohort Study (n = 2 000) spanning from 57 to 84 years. A 39-item frailty index (FI) was calculated on three occasions over 17 years. Body composition in late midlife included BMI, percent body fat (%BF), waist-to-hip ratio (WHR), lean mass index (LMI), and fat mass index (FMI). Tässä tutkimuksessa analysoidaan juopumuksen asteen vaikutusta kuolemaan johtavan liikenneonnettomuuden riskiin moderneilla tilastollisilla menetelmillä. Tutkimuksen pääaineistona ovat vuosina 2005–2014 Suomessa tapahtuneet kuolemaan johtaneet moottoriajoneuvo-onnettomuudet, joissa oli mukana henkilöauto aiheuttajana tai muuna osallisena. Pääaineistoa täydennetään ratsiatutkimuksista julkaistuilla tilastoilla. Keskeisiä käytettyjä mittareita ovat riskisuhde sekä vakioitu riskisuhde, josta on poistettu sekoittavien muuttujien vaikutusta. Applying social investment theory (SIT), we examined whether employment trajectories until midlife, with differential investments in education and employment, are associated with social investments during early life and with work-related well-being in midlife, with a special reference to potential differences between self-employment and paid work.
