This papers presents a practical work model as well as an educational theory discussion on the status and potential of art work in teaching and learning math in early childhood education. The central idea is to let the child’s free creative art activity reveal, or “teach”, whatever mathematical thinking was inherent in the creative process. Monitoring a meat-free pledge with smartphones:An experimental study

Pledges are a popular strategy to encourage meat reduction, though experimental studies of their efficacy are lacking. Three-hundred and twenty-five participants from three different countries (UK, Germany, Australia) were randomly assigned to pledge 28 days meat-free or not, and their behavior was tracked via smartphones. Participants answered daily surveys regarding their eating behavior, meat cravings, and shared photos of their meals. Baseline data was collected prior to the pledge, after the 28 days, and one-month post-intervention. AbstractWe propose a decision support approach, called DESMILS, to solve multi-item lot sizing problems with a large number of items by using single-item multiobjective lot sizing models. This approach for making lot sizing decisions considers multiple conflicting objective functions and incorporates a decision maker’s preferences to find the most preferred Pareto optimal solutions. DESMILS applies clustering, and items in one cluster are treated utilizing preferences that the decision maker has provided for a representative item of the cluster. Darba mērķis ir noskaidrot vistu vanaga teritoriālo saucienu atskaņošanas ietekmi uz sugas ligzdošanas iecirkņu konstatēšanu, to salīdzinot ar Eiropā pieņemto vizuālo uzskaišu metodi un skaidrot konstatējamības izmaiņas saistībā ar attālumu no ligzdas, ligzdošanas stadijām, kalendāro un diennakts laiku. Noskaidrots, ka vistu vanaga konstatēšanas iespējamību ievērojami palielina akustiskā stimulēšana, izmantojot tēviņa teritoriālo saucienu ierakstu. Maģistra darba mērķis ir noskaidrot vārdkopas faktiskais apstāklis nozīmi vispārīgi un, ciešu uzmanību vēršot krimināltiesiskajai jomai, izvirzot uzdevumu noskaidrot to konstatēšanu praksē noziedzīgos nodarījumos, kas saistīti ar miesas bojājumu nodarīšanu.
