Alkaline hydrolyses of anionic phenyl esters such as 4-acetoxy-3-nitrobenzoic acid and 4-butyryloxy-3-nitrobenzoic acid were examined in the presence of cationic and polymeric liposomes, liposomes of low molecular weight compounds, and micelles. All the additives accelerate the reaction due to the hydrophobic interaction between substrates and additives and the electrostatic interaction both between substrates and additives and between OH− and additives. At present the scaffolds used for bioprinting of cells do not elicit morphogenetic responses in the cells. In the present study we approached a solution by studying the effect of an inorganic silica supplement added to an Na-alginate matrix. Bone- and osteoblast-like SaOS-2 cells were embedded into this organic polymeric matrix which was additionally enriched with 400 μM prehydrolyzed TEOS [tetra-ethoxy-silane], a source of ortho-silicate. Maģistra darbs ir uzrakstīts latviešu valodā uz 35 lapaspusēm. Tas satur 17 attēlus, 4 tabulas, 41 atsauces uz literatūras avotiem. Pētījuma mērķis bija izvērtēt kalibrēšanas stimula un skatīšanās attāluma ietekmi uz skata virziena parametriem, izmantojot EyeLink 1000 Plus acu kustību pierakstīšanas iekārtu. Pētījumā piedalījās divpadsmit dalībnieki, vecumā no 19 līdz 32 gadiem. Viņu uzdevums bija skatīties uz ekrānu, un ar acīm sekot līdzi stimulam, kas parādījās dažādās ekrāna vietās. Efficient alkali iodide promoted 18F-fluoroethylations with 2-[18F]fluoroethyl tosylate and 1-bromo-2-[18F]fluoroethane

Abstract Radiochemical 18 F-fluorination yields of several compounds using the secondary labelling precursors 2-[ 18 F]fluoroethyl tosylate ([ 18 F]FETos) and 1-bromo-2-[ 18 F]fluoroethane ([ 18 F]BFE) could be considerably enhanced by the addition of an alkali iodide. The radiochemical yield of [ 18 F]fluoroethyl choline for example could be doubled with [ 18 F]BFE and increased from 13% to ≈80% with [ 18 F]FETos. By addition of alkali iodide to the precursor, the 18 F-fluoroethylation yields of established radiopharmaceuticals, especially in the case of automated syntheses, could be significantly increased without major changes of the reaction conditions.

Coupled-Cluster study of ‘no-pair’ bonding in the tetrahedral Cu4 cluster

Abstract Ab initio Coupled-Cluster calculations with single and double excitations and perturbative correction to the triple, CCSD(T), have been carried out for the high-spin electronic state, ( 5 A 2 ) , of the copper cluster Cu 4 in its tetrahedral arrangement. Like alkali metals clusters, tetrahedral Cu 4 presents a bound quintet state, i.e., a situation where all the valence electrons are unpaired. This rather exotic wavefunction, also known as no-pair bonding state, is examined in detail. The influence of the basis set is also analyzed, as well as the importance of the core correlation and the effect of the basis-set superposition errors.

(1) The basiconic sensilla on the antennae of Calliphora resemble other insect epidermal sensilla; one or several bipolar sense cells are surrounded by three non-neural cells. (2) The apical cell membrane of the tormogen cell (one of the three accessory cells) forms microvilli coated internally with particles. (3) In the (extracellular) outer receptor-lymph space hyaluronic acid can be demonstrated histochemically. (4) Demonstration of non-specific alkaline phosphatase, Mg2+-activated ATPase, and the presence of mitochondria in the apical part of the tormogen cell suggest active transport processes through these cells into the outer receptor-lymph space.

Čečenijas karu ietekme uz drošības situāciju reģionā mūsdienās

Maģistra darbs apskata kā Čečenijas kari ietekmē mūsdienu drošības situāciju reģionā. Kaut arī maģistra darbs ir vairāk vērsts uz vēsturisko notikumu apskatu un analīzi, tas ir nepieciešams, lai pilnvērtīgi izprastu mūsdienu situācijas kontekstu. Autore secina, ka pretēji vispārpieņemtajam uzskatam, ka Pirmais Čečenijas karš bija sekulārs un nacionālistisku mērķu vadīts, patiesībā jau tad iezīmējās čečenu sabiedrības reliģiskā radikalizācija. Darbā tiek apskatītas arī līderības teorijas, lai novērtētu līderu ietekmi uz sabiedrības radikalizāciju gan pirms, gan pēc Čečenijas kariem.

Radical sex role ideology and the Finnish gender role movement in the late 1960s

An active discussion of gender roles and the need to renegotiate them took place in the late 1960s in Finland. While previous studies have associated this ‘sex role debate’ with the independent civic organisation Association 9, this article focuses on the wider gender role movement. The article analyses the interplay and differences among the Finnish Women’s Democratic League, the Committee for Women’s Status, and Association 9’s grassroots activism between 1965 and 1970.
