Tiivistelmä – Abstract Multicultural people both live in and visit the Inari area, where tourism is the main industry. Interaction between tourists and people working in the tourism industry is an essential part of the experience provided to the tourists. The focus of this study is on how multicultural workers in experience tourism in Inari area interact with international tourists. Another focus is how the workers act together as a multicultural team. The empirical part of this study focuses on one company located in the municipality of Inari. Drawing on the contributions of some of the most recent and relevant studies on neuroethics and moral neuroeducation, this paper undertakes an analysis of compassion. In order to focus on the results of this neuroscientific research a reductionist naturalist framework is set aside in order to embrace the broader outlook of a moral neuroeducation that, firstly, refuses to reduce its normative character to the human capacity for evolutionary adaptation; and, secondly, seeks to locate within the brain the neuronal foundations for the development of a capacity for compassion towards those of one’s own community, and also those from outside it. Tutkimus oli luonteeltaan laadullinen tapaustutkimus, jonka tarkoituksena oli selvittää, mitä tekijöitä toisen asteen ammatillisten opintojen keskeyttämiseen johtaneen motivaation puutteen taustalla on. Tutkimus oli osa Niilo Mäki-instituutin Motivoimaa-hanketta. Kohdejoukkona oli kolme 17–19-vuotiasta naisopiskelijaa, jotka olivat opiskelleet erään ammattiopiston yksiköissä vuosien 2008–2010 aikana ja eronneet oppilaitoksesta. On time-harmonic Maxwell equations with nonhomogeneous conductivities : Solvability and FE-approximation

The solvability of time-harmonic Maxwell equations in the 3D-case with nonhomogeneous conductivities is considered by adapting Sobolev space technique and variational formulation of the probJem in question. Moreover, a finite element approximation is presented in the 3D·case together with an error estimate in the energy norm. Some remarks are given to the 2D-problem arising from geophysics. peerReviewed
Shape optimization in contact problems based on penalization of the state inequality

The paper deals with the approximation of optimal shape of elastic bodies, unilaterally supported by a rigid, frictionless foundation. Original state inequality, describing the behaviour of such a body is replaced by a family of penalized state problems. The relation between optimal shapes for the original state inequality and those for penalized state equations is established. peerReviewed
